fruity smoothie
1 cup? vanilla soy slender soy milk
1 cup? sunrise ornage cystal light or orange diet rite
2 scoops vanilla protien powder I used 100% whey protein
1 Tbsp NotSugar or 1 tsp xanthan gum (optional)
2 Tbsp chopped frozen starwberries with splenda
3 frozen rounds of ripe banana
1/2? tsp of powdered orange crystal light
1/2 c carb countdown milk or more vanilla soy slender
1 packet stevia
-Pour the soy slender and orange drink into small containers or clean ice cube trays and freeze overnight or until frozen.
-When ready to make the shake put carb countdown milk, vanilla protein powder and NotSugar if using in blender jar and blend, add some orange or soy slender if needed to blend it up.
-Then add the frozen soy slender, I chopped it up a bit with a knife but you could put in micro on defrost for a few seconds/a minute, and blend. Do the same with the orange drink.
Add a little bit of orange drink if needed to keep your blender from locking up if its too icy and the blade won't turn.
-Then add the frozen strawberries and pulse a few times, and then add the banana and pulse a few times.
-Taste if not sweet enough add some stevia, it works better with really cold drinks, or you can use splenda or vanilla davinci if prefered
-Pour into large cup and drink with a straw. Tastes like orange julius to me.
-I had more than could fit into my cup so I froze it in a small freezer container then next am put in micro for a few secs on defrost then ate with a spoon......mmmm
So...On Fitday I figured some stats
as written this entire shake is 213 cals,7 fat,11 carbs-4 fiber=6 net carbs and 27g protein
To make it less carbs you could increase the amount of orange drink and make into 2 shakes then it would be half of that per shake
If you need more fat add some cream....be sure and count the additional carbs
If you can't have banana take it out its still delicious with just strawberries 9 carbs 4 fiber=5 net
For that matter its good just as a orange creamscile smoothie with no fruit at all
7 carbs 3 fiber for 4 net carbs....and if you stretched it to 2 shakes..... then it would be 2 net carbs each
I also like it with Nasoya light silken tofu in it 1 serving about 3 oz that brand claims no carbs but if even counting 1 carb...it adds 6 grams of protein and makes the smoothie thicky like when you make smooothies with bananas
