  • Actual carbs?

I've been reading the recipe section, and I keep seeing to add all these carbs for heavy cream and cream cheese. On the carton of cream, it says no carbs. On the Philly box, it says <1 carb per 2 oz. Which do I go by, the listed carbs on packaging, or what I find in carb counters?

    Re: Actual carbs?

Heavy cream has carbs. In the US, heavy cream has 32-36% butterfat, so the rest of it is water, protein and carbs.

Also the US has virtually no regulations regarding carbohydrate labelling. So a product labeled "0" carbs can have 0.0-0.49999999999 carbs and a product labeled "less than 1 carb" can have 0.0-0.99999999999 carbs.

Since it's safer to overestimate the carbs in your foods, counting it as 1 net carb would be the best thing to do.
