  • Recommendation for sour cream?

Anyone have a recommendation for a national name brand sour cream that is thick? Every brand I buy is almost liquidy and after being open 2-3 days, looks more like milk or heavy cream than sour cream.

Drain off the liquid; this may help.

I have not had this problem with any of the sour cream brands I buy, unless my fridge is on the blink and not keeping things cold enough.

I always buy PennMade, although not sure where all that is distributed, I have never looked for sour cream outside of this area.

I use Breakstones. It's always very thick.

A second enthusiastic vote for Breakstone's--thick and tangy. I find most sour creams a bit bland, but not Breakstone's.

I also have to say that I've never in my life had any brand of sour cream thin out in the fridge, and I've sometimes taken a month to use up a container.

I also use Breakstone and love it. I've tried others, but always come back to Breakstone!

Are you dipping things into it that you've taken a bite out of? Celery...etc.
I just ask because the enzymes from your saliva will break the sour cream down.
