Sunday dinner special :) what is on?

OMG I was going to leave town with my husband and we got as far as our farmers market where I became transfixed by the fresh local oysters..I could not move or speak except to ask him to put the ones I chose carefully in a bag....they are spectacular ..so tonight I am going to take these babies and put them whole on the grill when they pop open put piri piri sauce on them and eat them with fresh asparagus ...I am beside myself I want you to know ...

I have to say sometimes changing your mind and coming home is a good thing

My kids thought it was Thanksgiving. We had Turkey, creamed turnips, asparagus, stuffing and gravy.

Never had oysters, but I'm jealous just because you're so excited!!!

We planned to work on house/yard stuff this afternoon and cook a big ham dinner.

Went to zoo instead. Changing your mind and leaving home is a good thing too

Imjealous Heidi, I cant find oysters here any longer! (tis the season for them to begin mating). Im going to have to hit the fish market and pay out the nose for them, I LOVE me some oysters!

OMG PIRI PIRI is a Portuguese/West African hot sauce where you take a mix of peppers (whatever you like jalepenos, habaneros, chiles) and put them in the blender with lemon juice and olive oil then let it sit for overnight ..there are a bunch of recipes online and I know I posted one some place ...I will find it and show you!!!
I make mine by whatever peppers I find you can even do a sweet piri piri and use paprika and red bell peppers if you do not like hot ..but I can not imagine not wanting a little heat in life

Seafood is love! Thank you for the recipe, I cant wait to try it out! (might have to order some peppers from Penzeys or find an excuse to go to the store. Better yet, Im heading to san antonio in a few weeks and will be right near the farmers market...... oh heck yeah!)

OMG San Antonio just check out the local Hispanic markets and stock up !!!! I love San Antonio what a beautiful city!!!! have a wonderful trip girl!!! OOOXXXX and let us know what scores you find there!!!!
you can get some of the jumbo Gulf Shrimp there and make Piri Piri shrimp
