Hey Welcome back Momma!
Yeah, the Walmart here doesn't carry it. They don't have much by the way of low carb stuff, not the stuff that I am looking for anyway. It's not too bad though, I wait til I have a pretty good size order then go to netrition.com. It's only $4.95 shipping for whatever so I wait til I need a bunch. Heck! They even sent me a T-shirt one time LOL.

This was an excellent thread! I can't wait to try some recipes with almond flour (or any kind of nut flour for that matter).
I've called two health food stores (both 20 minutes away in opposite directions) and neither of them had the almond flour. I looked in our Super Wal-Mart by the flours and didn't find a thing.
I do have almonds on hand and we have a coffee grinder, but I would like to get a separate one to grind the nuts in case the coffee flavor clings to them. Anyone use one grinder for both coffee and nuts?
On another note, I did find the DaVinci's syrup by the coffees on the top shelf and they were around $3 per bottle.
Mmmmmm... almond flour is awesome. I use it to bake low carb cakes and to substitute breadcrumbs in most things: meatloaf, meatballs, tunaloaf, veggies au gratin...

Anyone ever use their coffee grinder for both coffee and nuts? I want to buy a separate one, but DH thinks I can use one for both. My concern is that the coffee flavor is so strong that it may make the flour taste like coffee...what do you think?
I haven't used a coffee grinder but you might try grinding a very small batch super fine first to help get any extra grounds out and just be prepared to toss it. Or maybe whirl baking soda around in it and let it set up to remove any coffee aroma. OR use the first batch to make one of those 3 minute chocolate cakes and then it won't matter if there is a coffee flavor 'cause then it would be a 3 minute mocha cake!!

I use mine for both, it's a stainless steel one (including the inside where you grind things) and i've never had an issue with coffee taste. Though the fact that it's ss might be why.
BOB's RED MILL has come out with almond flour in our Kroger stores but the FOOD CITY ones don't carry it yet. look in the speacial flours sections for it.
