  • sausages

I have bought sausages and they have been sitting in the freezer for 2 weeks - I'm a little scared to eat them! I think it's because they are not just protein and fat like most meat. They are beef sausages and the nutrition label reads:

    2.1 g carbs / 100g
    less than 1 g sugar
There are various fillers which I am a bit wary of.

I am doing induction. Can somebody please let me know if they are ok to eat. Would like to have them for lunch tomorrow, but won't defrost them if they are a bit evil.

    Cheers

    Re: sausages

They do not sound like a good choice to me. Sounds like they have fillers etc. Read the ingredients!

Ditto. You have to be careful to read the ingredients when you're at the store. I learned that at the grocery store last week!

        Re: sausages

I dont know about Australian sausages but most British bangers are definitely not Atkins-friendly as they have rusk or breadcrumbs added!

I stuck to the German-type sausages like bratwurst that are 99.5% pork with just spices added until spotting a sausage making 'gun' at a charity shop. (brand new in the sealed box btw) So now I make my own from ground (minced) meat and know exactly what is in them.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
