Re: Veggies Question
I hate to tell you this but it is up there on the glycemic index with the white potato and corn flakes. You probably won't be able to have it again until maintenance.

Re: Veggies Question
Yeah but a sweet potato is still a potato...and a sweet one. I don't know what rung it is on but it is pretty up there too. What rung are you on?

Re: Veggies Question
The DANDR lists turnip - by which is meant the one that is white. Rutabega is the yellow fleshed one and that one is much more carby. I ate turnip in induction. I like it baked with oil drizzled over it - sort of baked French fry style.

Re: Veggies Question
Oh wow, I didn't know that. I don't eat it so maybe I didn't notice it. Definitely go by the book, not by me!Originally posted by elissa123 View PostI am on induction. But my atkins book lists it under the veggies you can have 1 cup a day of??? I am wondering if I should just skip it?

Re: Veggies Question
Rutabaga is NOT on the list. Turnip is. (They are different vegetables)

Re: Veggies Question
I guess I misinterpret the "it" in your sentence. However as I read it in my book sweet potato cannot be added until rung 8 (starchy vegetables)

Re: Veggies Question
Sweet potatoes are rung 8 and as per Dr. A should be eaten rarely
