  • Anyone have a good tuna spread recipie?

    Hi Robert J here :wave
Im looking for a simple tunafish spread recipie that is Atkins friendly. If I can find one I would be grateful. I need something that will sustain me at afternoon time at work.

    1 can of tuna
1 tablespoon of mayo (add more mayo if you want it creamier)
    1/2 tablespoon of dill relish

Try a tuna salad wrap, use a low carb tortilla add the tuna salad and lettuce, fold up and enjoy, it is really good.

To newbies the wrap is not for induction.

If you like salmon, Starkist makes a packaged salmon, similar in consistency to tuna fish. We use it the same as tuna, mixing it with mayonaise, celery and hard boiled eggs.

I've also been making tuna or salmon cakes. Mix the tuna or salmon with some celery and or dill. Add one beaten egg. Form patties and fry until golden. I serve with a bit of mayo with dill in it.

When you are alone in your head, you are in a bad neighborhood.

If you don't have mayo around, you can use some low carb ranch dressing. If you liek ranch, it's yummy and a great substitute when I had no mayo around.

What is Ranch dressing? I've never seen it, but everyone seems to like it.

Irish, I love the salmon cakes too! Thanks for the reminder!

Also, I used to eat tuna on toast. It's tuna with a basic white sauce. How would I recreate something similar to that? (obviously I would no longer use the toast)

Hi all. I eat tuna all the time, usually with some hard boiled egg, a little bit of red wine vinegar (count the carbs), and a bit of chopped celery.

Rejoice- have you tried spreading some tuna on pork rinds? I havent tried it, but I imagine it will give you that "crunch" you get with toast.

Here's a great recipe for a TUNA MELT (tuna on toast with cheese on top):

1 cup of your preferred tuna salad recipe
                          Pork rinds
                          1 slice cheddar cheese

I pack this in a square ziplock container for DH to take to work for lunch. Just place a layer of pork rinds on the bottom, the tuna on top of the pork rinds, a slice of cheese on top. At work he microwaves it for just a minute or until the cheese is nicely melted. The pork rinds soften slightly, and it truly tastes like it's on toast! YUM!
