  • uk member needs buffalo wings recipe

I keep reading on these boards about some of you american guys loving buffalo wings and blue cheese dressing
I live out in the country so our supermarket dosnt stock ready made blue cheese dressing and ive never come across buffalo wings here,im dying to try it as i salivate every time its mentioned.
if anyone has a good recipe for homemade buffalo wings or blue cheese dressing i would really appreciate it

    buffalo wings are easy:

Take a bunch of seperated chicken wings (drumettes seperated from wingettes) and deep fry them in peanut oil until done.

Toss with ample Frank's Red Hot (or any other louisiana style hot cayenne sauce) and butter, plus a bit of salt, pepper, and garlic.

    Serve.

Blue cheese dressing is simple too, and there are two decent recipes in the back of the Atkins book.

yeah if you can get ahold of franks hot sauce and some chicken wings then youre in business. I have fried mine before but like them better baked so theyre practically falling off the bone. I bake mine in butter and franks hotsauce for like 4 hours so I can just suck em off the bone lol MMMMMMMM You dont need salad dressing on them if you bake them. If you do fry them, Ranch dressing is good on them also.

          Definitely with the skin.

And garlic is a nice adition, but not traditional

If you fry, definately skin on, it gives them a nice crispyness.

I have never enjoyed baked wings personally, I love that crispy crunch you get from the deep fried variety, but SansSanity's method doesn't look bad at all.

And don't forget to eat them with a side dish of raw celery sticks.

Before I started this WOE, wings were one of my downfalls..but I'm so excited that we can have them now :icondance

We take Frank's Red Hot sauce (medium sized bottle)
3 Tbs. low carb (0 carbs) BBQ sauce...used for consistency and some flavor
                Bag of wing sections
                Melted butter

Combine the Red hot, melted butter, and BBQ sauce in a bowl, set aside..deep fry your wing sections and place fried wings in the sauce mixture. After all wings are fried place lid on bowl and shake until the sauce has covered all of the wings. You can put them in the fridge for later and bake them in the oven at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Or you can bake them right away for 10 or 15 minutes until a little crispy on the outside. They do tend to fall off the bone. YUMMY! We dip them in Marzetti brand Ranch dressing. It has 1 carb per 2 Tbsp. serving.

                Enjoy!
