    Re: Mayonnaise Dips--any good "recipes"?

I just tried one yesterday as a sauce for salmon but I can see where you might like it on other things too. My two teen boys loved it as well. It is just 4 parts mayo to one part pesto from the supermarket. It was super on the broiled fish!

Hi! I often mix mayonaise with some regular yellow mustard--more mayo than mustard--add the mustard to your taste. I don't add splenda to this (as has been mentioned above) as I like it tangy/zesty rather than sweet. I use this A LOT--esp for cold chicken and cold cuts but also with chilled shrimp and lightly cooked and then chilled veggies (especially asparagus, green beans, broccoli, cauliflower and brussel sprouts!). I also mix mayo with chopped dill pickles or a 0 carb dill relish to make a tarter sauce for fish. And I do add garlic/lemon/cilantro to mayo frequently too. [Sorry...my spacing has been funky with my messages tonight.. ??? not sure why...it looks OK on the screen but then when I hit to submit the post it gets messed up. ??

I like mustard in mayo as well, but I spread it thickly on fish before baking as a "sauce"
                  Especially nice on salmon.

I was in desperate need of something different yesterday at dinner, so I mixed up something I think is awesome. Maybe some of you will like it too. You just mix equal parts Ranch dressing and salsa. Make sure to check the carbs. I found a salsa in my grocery store with 1 carb per serving when most of them had 3 or 4. The dressing had 2 carbs, so I ended up with three. It was worth it to use those because I was pretty low on carbs yesterday and it tasted really good.

I only used a little bit, but it was really good with the hamburger patty I had for dinner. I even dipped some of my salad bites into it.

PESTO! Buy it at the grocery store or make your own. It makes a great rich dip for skinless chicken fingers and a great "sauce" for salmon. Haven't tried it with veggies though I bet it would be good with fried green beans. I usually mix one part pesto to 2 or 3 parts mayo.

I made this ranch dressing up today and its fantastic!!

                          • 1 1/2 cup mayonnaise
                          • 1 1/2 tablespoon dried parmesan cheese
                          • 1/2 teaspoon dried chives
                          • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
                          • 1/2 teaspoon dried dill weed
                          • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
                          • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
                          • 1/8 teaspoon salt
                          • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper

And to "kick it up a notch" I put in a pinch of chipotle powder. MUCH healthier than the stuff in the stores which always have all these chemical additives, and often even though they say just "1 carb per tablespoon" have SUGAR as an ingredient!!

mayo, a dash of garlic, fresh-picked blue crab (Maryland, of course!!), home-grown tomato pulp (after you save seeds you want), salt & pepper as desired.

I love a strong mix of mayo and chipotle mustard. Especially great on burgers. Salmon or crab cakes, too. Like a spicy remoulade.

I also like one carb ketchup with a little mayo and horseradish processed a bit for a cocktail sauce.
