  • Looking For ~WOOSHIE~ Recipes

I'm hoping some of you may know of some recipes that cause the "Wooshies" to happen...

I know about the "Hamburger Pie", but I'm hoping there are more options than just eating that day in & day out. lol

Any tips or recipes you could share, would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you..

I dont get large wooshes only ones that are 1 to 2 lbs but i have noticed some patterns. It seems to help to make sure you add some fat to all meals that dont have much. I always add fat to my veges(except avocado because they have enough), like butter or olive oil. I try to cook with butter instead of canola(i never lose weight on a day i use canola, dont really know why). Steak and other beef foods seem to stall me for the day, except hamburger.

      determined2shrink -

Thank you for replying. I'm guessing for you to know what gives or doesn't give you wooshes everytime you have a certain meal, that you're weighing yourself on a daily basis?

I weigh myself once a week, with the exception of trying the "hamburger pie", because I wanted to know if it really does work. It did.. I was down 2 or 3lbs the next morning.

I was thinking that hamburger was a contributing factor, but I have also read that the horseradish is another reason it works? I don't know what other recipes I could try that use horseradish?

I do like to cook with butter also, along with my mix of canola/olive oil. It can be greasy at times, but the fat content does help towards weight falling off.

Thanks again, and if you can think of anything else or stumble upon a wooshie food... please share

Anybody have the recipe handy for whooshie pie? I'm thinking it may be worth a trip to the grocery store today! I've found a few variations on the web but I trust someone here has an awesome version that's safe for induction.

This is the version I've made before. I believe it's the horseradish that's supposed to cause the "whooshie". Hope it works for you!

The recipe is in this thread.

Cayenne pepper and horseradish are two ingredients that cause whooshies. I add both to my pita-less tacos all the time!

A few horseradish ideas - I spread it on to cold cooked beef and roll up to eat. You can also include it as a flavouring in the faux cauliflower 'mash' - I used to use it in mashed potatoes and it works in the cauli as well. You could also include it with other veggie dishes such as mashed or pureed celeriac with salt, pepper, butter, cream, cheese (if you want,) and horseradish. Or do something similar with turnips instead of celeriac. You can also mix a little into mayo for a very tasty dressing over salad, meats, baked fish or veggies. Oh a new thought - what about roasting some turnips in oil in the oven with black pepper, then tossing them in some butter, and drizzling the mayo/horseradish dressing over them?
