I tried an Ameicano today... It was pretty good for as low in carbs at it is. Not as good at the Breve Latte with SF vanilla but DARN good substitute when you're trying to get away with the least carbs possible...

    Thanks akotnour!!

Iced Americanos w/ sf vanilla and cream are equally as good, especially when it's warm outside.

              What is a Breve Latte?

Do you just ask for a decaf heavy cream latte with sf vanilla syrup? How many carbs is in that? Does anyone know?

Breve Latte is just a heavy cream latte. I order it as "Tall Venti Decaf Heavy Cream Latte with SF Vanilla". A Tall has 15 carbs, a Grande has 20, and a Venti has 25 carbs.

That's a rare treat for me now. Too many carbs. I usually get that Venti Caffe Americano with SF Vanilla that akotnour suggested. It has only 3 carbs. Plus the heavy cream if you add that. (2-4 T = 1-2 carbs). So total drink would have no more than 5 carbs total.

Their water is filtered and tastes really good....

Seriously, I'd avoid Starbucks for two weeks, and it hurts me to say that. Try to get over your addictions during Induction and the rest will be a lot easier. There are lower carb and lower caffeine options, but those are still problematic, not to mention that you don't learn that you can live without that kinda thing.

If it tells you how I feel about coffee, the only thing I asked for at Christmas was a Briel Espresso machine (which I got :icondance ) so I understand how hard it is to give it up. But I did and it was worth it. And now, I don't remember those few months I went without, but I do fit in my size 4 dresses...

                      Thank you!!!

I just wanted to thank ya'll about this Starbucks thread. I'm a lover of occasional iced mochas, and hadn't had any since I began on this WOE three weeks ago. Last weekend, a friend and I stopped at a local java shop, and I ordered a small decaf iced Cafe Americano with a little heavy cream. It was great, and definitely satisfied my love of iced coffee drinks.

                      Thank you!!!

BAD NEWS!!!! I went to my local Starbucks last week and ordered my usual grande s/f decaf vanilla latte w/cream and the lady (barrister, whatever) told me that they could not froth drinks with heavy cream anymore because it was clogging up there frother (I know that is not the term she used, but I was in such a state of shock, I didn't get the official name). She offered to do it breve, which is half and half, but that adds an extra 11 carbs. So sad.....

By the way, be careful when you order drinks with cream. A lot of the Starbucks employees will scream "breve" to the ones making the drinks and you will wind up with half and half instead of cream. It's like I have literally had to look at them and say "HEAVY CREAM, NOT HALF AND HALF." They look at me like I am nuts.....and then they tell me that I have broken their frother!

Tell 'em to put some of their fancy filtered water in the pitcher and heavy cream will froth fine. And it doesn't clog anything. It doesn't froth as well, but it doesn't clog... :nono

As a side bennie to you, diluting it means less carbs and the taste is the same. (I've tried it at home, with my machine)

How can a venti iced latte made with heavy whip, sf vanilla and splenda have a bunch of carbs in it? I asked to see the carton of HW Cream and the carb count said 0.....none.....whos sayin it's 15 g?? I disagree.....and I have one everyday. What a PLEASURE! I even make them at home, however, there is a brand that makes Heavy WHipping cream that has 1 carb per serving (3 tbsp) so I had to make sure I found the ones with 0 g....just my opinion

Unfortunately, if a product has less than one carb, even 0.99 carbs, the manufacturer is allowed to round down to 0 carbs. All cream has some carbs in it, even if its 0.5. If you consume a venti iced latte with heavy cream thinking its carb-free, you're probably consuming plenty of "hidden carbs". These drinks are good but be careful if you start to stall, you may be consuming hidden carbs in this "0 carb" cream. Just a thought.

                                Absolutely right.
Also keep in mind the serving size. It's a tablespoon for cream, I believe. Since a latte is 1/2 cream, even if it's frothed, that's a LOT of cream.
