Yes, its sad, but each whole onion, according to the gram counter has 7.5 grams of net carb. They are allowed on induction, but just beware the higher count. Good luck!

Sorry for the confussion. onions and tomatoes are allowed foods that are a bit high on the can cause stalls or cravings list so Dr Atkins said if you find eating them sets off your cravings or slows your weight loss you should avoid them. Some of our members elelimate anything that might even remotely effect their plan such as these or cheese, cream, olives, lemon juice sour cream and avacados. Other experiment with them and see if in fact they do effect their rate of loss. You should see what they do to you and then decide.

I ate some yesteday and was shocked to see the carbs on fitday!! I am going to go easy on them- but my scale did drop 2 pounds from yesterdy and I did eat a small one last night. Onions do have a natural diuretic effect so maybe that's what happened with me. Don't know- but my shorts are getting big!!! As for tomatoes- Ihave one a day and have been good with them- can't missout on Maryland tomatoes- I'm already missing out on the local corn .

              onions & tomatoes

My understanding is you can have both, but just decrease your salad intake. I thought it that's what atkins web-sight says. I have been eating onions in tuna and egg, and one small tomato each day and have lost 2 pounds per day so far.

              Correct me if I'm wrong.

I had three Jr. Cheeseburger Deluxes at Wendy's yesterday minus ketchup and bun which unfortunately aren't listed the way I needed them to be at fitday, so I entered everything manually. There were two raw onion rings on each burger and I had three equalling six rings for a grand total of 3 carbs (actually less, but it rounded up to three). I'm going to not have my cup of veggies tonight (since the burgers had two pickle slices each too) and just have a small romaine lettuce salad and I'm doing just fine carbwise... Remember, sometimes quantity is important.
