Re: Hooters
i am really sorry, i love wings too.
at hooters all have 0 carbs:steamed shrimp , oysters and snow crab legs don't have any carbs.
one thing i like to do , is put chicken strips in a george foreman grill, cover them in low carb hot sauce and low carb blue cheese, its enough that i don't miss wings all the time.
But i totally feel for you , I miss going out and eating wings .

Re: Hooters
I found a hot sauce last week ( I am in Canada so brand names won't help) and I melted about 3 tbsp of butter and mixed it with about 1/4 cup of the hot sauce. I baked 4 large turkey wings and doused them with this sauce... THEY WERE FANTASTIC!!!!! SOOOO EASY.... I also used this sauce with my steak, I am glad to be using butter this way as I have some difficulty getting enough fat in my diet.
NEVER trust a restaurant for wings... unless they make their sauces on site, most sauces are bottled and have tonnes of preservatives, thickeners and hidden sugars, that is why they have a high carb count. I personally miss Honey Garlic wings so I absolutely stay away from the restaurants because of that.
Good luck!!!!

Re: Hooters
I make my own wings, and it's very easy. This will cover 2 lbs. before trimming, 1.5 lbs. if you buy pre-cut wings. (meaning they have the tips removed and are separated into halves).
4 T. butter
4 T. hot sauce (I use Cholula. No sugar added).
1 T. apple cider vinegar
opt t. of red pepper flakes or red pepper/garlic paste (I like them VERY hot)
use half the sauce to coat the wings, bake at 375 for about 1 hour. If they are beginning to brown on the edges, they are close to done. brush on more sauce, bake 10 more minutes. If you have sauce left, you can dip in it or coat the completed wings in it, but generally, I wind up using the sauce up in the cooking.
All Hooters wings are coated in flour before cooking, even the ones that aren't "breaded". That's where the carbs are coming from. Also, some buffalo sauce has sugar in it. I find there's no need for it, but restaurants apparently feel differently.Female, 41

Re: Hooters
Hey fellow wing lovers!
My husband is a wing-a-holic and was rediculously happy when he found the frozen bags of pre-made, low carb hot wings in the store. I'm pretty sure they are made by Tyson, and some are less than 1 carb. per serving (7 wings) and other flavors (like honey BBQ or Tequila Lime) are 2 to 3 carbs. per serving. Only 20 mins. in the oven and you're eating! YUMM!!

Re: Hooters
Hooters as well as many other other places use sugar in some of their sauces and also flour their wings to the sauces stick.sigpicCeeMarie 267/236/180 (-31 lbs!)

Re: Hooters
I agree. Sauces won't become tasty without sugar. And I love the wings served by Hooters restaurant in long beach. They serve the best Chicken wings ever..!!!Sumptuous food is romantic gateway!!!

Re: Hooters
Hooters does in fact lightly toss the wings in flour when naked unless you specifically ask them not to... also, when they toss the sauce, they do not use separate tossing containers from the breaded variety, so I noticed quite a bit of cling-on on a buddy's wings (while I ate the steamed shrimp).
