Heya All,
Had lunch today at the buffet in the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City (friend of mine had a buy one get one free coupon, so we went).
The selection today at least was pretty solid for a low-carb diet. There were lots of high carb temptations (including a completely decadent looking dessert bar) but also some very tasty protein options, such as fresh sliced prime rib, fresh sliced braised ham, incredible garlic sauced bok choy, dry rubbed pork chops, baked chicken, asian style ribs (might have had some light carbs in sauce), caesar salad, mushroom and artichoke salad in vinegar and oil, and a very tasty morrocan shrimp dish with some sort of leafy green vegetable.
Price is not cheap ($1
and be prepared for about a 30 minute wait at any point in the day that is near a meal time, but really, considering the quality, it is well worth it. Service is excellent, and the leather used in the seats in the booths is the softest I have ever felt, ambiance is phenomenal.
The casino itself is also very nice, but seems to always have a lot of people at all the tables, go during the daytime for lower minimums. There is also an italian place and a steak house near the buffet, neither have I been to, but both look very nice and upscale.
I can recommend the buffet to anyone looking for a nice meal with a lot of variety, but be prepared to exert strong willpower to ignore the huge dessert rack, the very tasty looking high carb options, and to not gorge on the low-carb treats (including the best buffet prime rib I have ever had).
