Silly, that looks great! I am seriously thinking of investing in a food dehydrator. Where is Ron Popeil when you need him?

My brother mentioned last night that they're still chewing on the batch I made them. He says they just love it! I think that's so cool!

In bankruptcy court, from what I've heard!!!!

Mine was given to me and she got it off of freecycle.com. Anyway, it's a Nesco and it works! You should get one, I can assure you you will find plenty to dehydrate!

I would love to make beef jerky that way. The thought of making jerky in the oven in 100-degree weather is not making me happy. Have you ever made dried fruit roll thingys? Like healthy fruit rollups? Those look delicious.

                Re: Spicy Beef Jerky

I haven't. So far all I've made are the yams for the dog twice and now the jerky. It's hot here too and I set it up outside yesterday! It's stacks of the trays with a blow dryer inserted into them, literally I could blow dry my hair with it! Sure beats having the oven on, not that I have an oven at the moment!

No, it's my famount all purpose marinads of Unseasoned rice wine vinegar, about a tblsp of sesame oil, about 1 tblsp of soy, white pepper and a packet or two of Splenda.

                        Re: Spicy Beef Jerky

Sens, literally that's it! I use this combo on alot of things. Sometimes I add garlic (and I would next time in the jerky), sometimes ginger, sometimes tarragon, whatever strikes me. I use it for meats and chicken. Also next time I make jerky with it I will also add salt. Hear that Julie, LOL! Not only would the salt help with moisture, but the final product was a little bland (but good). I was thinking the soy would be enough saltiness, but it wasn't!

I always use zip loc baggies to marinate and my best guess for actual amounts on one flank steak would be:

1/4 cup unseasoned rice wine vinegar
                        3-4 Tblsp soy sauce
                        1-2 Tblsp Sesame Oil
Dash or two or three white pepper
                        2 packs Splenda
