    Re: Kinda-Like a Wendy's Frosty....

It's okay (I believe) as long as you count the cream as your 2-3 oz limit for the day, and don't forget to count the allowed Splenda (or alternative) limit of 2 packets a day. I think with the Jello, you're going to have to make some adjustments during the day if you want to stay true to keeping the carbs low. It's all about keeping score, moderation, and having fun with your food. And let me tell you, thanks for bumping this one up (I think...LOL)!

      Re: Kinda-Like a Wendy's Frosty....

The Jello we have is zero carb Jello....the only downfall to it is that it's sweetened with Aspartame. I find my body handles aspartame ok, I never crave anything after I have it and I don't think my blood sugar spikes. So if it's zero carb Jello then I was thinking it would be ok for induction, aside from the aspartame.

Well I am disappointed.. I tried making G2Gunner's Recipe and the recipe at the top.. Neither one turned out right In a way I am glad...cause I don't need to get addicted to anything else... But I was looking forward to it. One of the issues was that my blender wasn't breaking up the ice.. Which I don't understand. Its a pretty new blender..only been used a couple of times...

          Re: Kinda-Like a Wendy's Frosty....

I didn't have any sugar free jello on hand so I filled up a huge glass with ice and water, dumped it in the blender and then dumped two tbs of heavy cream in. I had some Crystal Light lemonade so I poured one packet of that in and blended it up! It was like a lemonade slushie. DBF liked it so much that he made him one with the Hawaii Punch sugarfree packets(Its like Crystal Light and comes in the little packets too with zero carbs). It tasted just like a cherry slushie to me. He loved it and he doesn't even eat low carb! I thought it was great!

Sandy - I had that problem too! My blender is fairly new and rarely used. DBF had to come in the kitchen and try getting it to break up the ice for me, but it still left big chunks of ice.

I too would like to know if this is okay on induction. I had thought that the pudding was a completely off-limits item, even though it is sugar free because of what it has in it? The jello one might be okay I suppose, and maybe crystal light? but you gotta watch the sweetener's that are used if they cause blood sugar spikes or not, right?

If you use unflavored gelatin and flavor it yourself, then it's fine.

You mean, the Jell-O instant pudding? It's full of junk. These are ingredients from amazon.com:

Modified Food Starch, Maltodextrin (From Corn), Tetrasodium Pyrophosphate and Disodium Phosphate (For Thickening), Contains less than 2% of Skim Milk, Natural and Artificial Flavor, Salt, Calcium Sulfate, Xanthan Gum (For Smooth Texture), Mono- and Diglycerides (Prevent Foaming), Aspartame and Acesulfame Potassium (Sweeteners), Yellow 5. Yellow 6. Artificial Color. Phenylketonurics

                      maybe crystal light?
                      Not something I would use...

Even when I make desserts, I try to choose nutritious ingredients for them. Just because it's dessert, there's no reason not to make it healthy.

I imagine a pumpkin pie smoothie is possible and Induction-legal: some combination of ice, heavy whipping cream, pure pumpkin, Splenda (counts towards the 3x limit) and pumpkin pie spice.

Thanks for responding Georgiana and Shrew Thats what I thought about it...seems like not healthy, and the skim milk (in puddings ingredients) is not allowed on induction either. Much less the starch?? Anyhow, I will steer clear of the pudding.
I wonder how you can make it healthier...besides the pumpkin, I mean.
