Hi everyone. I was just sent here by someone trying to help me with some problems I'm having. I am getting very sick everytime I start induction, around the 3rd or 4th day. I'm starting again today cutting out dairy and fermented foods. I have a high chance of candida, since I've been on antibiotics VERY frequently the last 8 years, and all this last winter. I have all the symptoms EXCEPT external yeast infections...could I still have candida without the external manifests? A friend gave me oregano oil capsules and suggested I try black cohosh and of course acidophilus. Are there any other things/ strategies you have found successful? I would so appreciate any tips at this point, since I've been feeling pretty bad about not being able to get going this year (last year lost 70 pounds in extended induction, no problems).

    Thank you, and happy dieting!

    Hi MAribelle!

Yes you can have Candida without external manifestations. I havnet had a Yeast infection in years! I dont have thrush or any other type of yeast symptom that you would know in a heart beat. Mine manafests itself in Asthma, and most recently, toenail fungal infections.

I just started today to eat yeast free. So far so good, but I am trying to find other foods that will fill me up as much as my daily cheese stick did!

I remember Dr. Atkins saying in his book that people with Candida could have mozzerella cheese...is that the kind of cheese stick you like?
I'm feeling better today already. However the Oregano Oil capsules gave me quite a bit of heart burn...hope that goes away with time. We'll have to see. Good luck with your fight against this stuff, too!

Hi Becky Sue. This is the first time I've actually read the stickies and looked really close at the KISS diet. I bought all the stuff for the diet today ( all little expensive, but so worth it). And I'm starting super strict in the morning, after my first spit test.
As for the suppliments I was taking...after reading your links, I think I'll just stick to my normal suppliments, and avoid the extras till I see how far diet alone can get me. I was taking the Oregano Oil capsules, and it was burning my stomach pretty bad.
One quick question though. I have been taking B vitamens, for most of the time I've been on Atkins. Without them I have mood troubles. With them, I'm much calmer and happier. But they do contain some yeast...should I go without??? Thanks!

Ok, I just did the spit test, since I haven't had anything to eat for HOURS. It didn't even take 5 minutes for the strings to form. Pretty discouraging stuff, but not, since I have this forum to help me deal with it! I had a good suspicion, but now I'm sure. It kinda makes me angry when doc's deal out antibiotics at the rate some do (mine does) and never warn you this can happen. When I was coming to him time and again this winter, he should of been saying, "Lets see if this is a yeast problem" instead of "Here try this antibiotic...didn't work? Ok try this one?" etc for a whole 5 months!!! No use crying over spilt milk, just time to get out the mop and do damage control. Here goes!

Welcome to the KISS WOE. It is strict, but you will find that your body loves it. You will feel so good eating this unprocessed, pure foods way.

As for the vita.B. Can you find some without yeast in them. If not, they sound very important to your moods. I would go on the diet and keep taking your Vita B. You can always cut them later if you don't get the results you are working toward. My 2 cents! I am no doctor.

The KISS WOE will starve the overgrowth of yeast out of your system. Remember that you will probably feel worse when the yeast goes to dying, before you feel better. Just keep drinking all your water to flush the toxins out.

If you have questions, just ask. We are here to help you work thru this.

Keep reading all you can find about candida. Knowledge is power.

Welcome to this WOE. If you feel that you need to eat something sweet don't do it. It will happen when candida need to feed. So dont forget you need to be strong to win this fight. :guns

I learned a lot with the links that Becky Sue posted so please read them carefully. If there is something that I can do for you just write here.

Thank you ladies, you're both looking so good. That is an interesting tip, about craving sweets when the yeast needs to feed. On Sunday as I was doing this diet, I got INCREDIBLE cravings. Now I know why. I am doing it strong today, and finding my moods hard to control for now...I think this is my form of detox. I am going to keep taking my B's for now until I can afford to get a yeastless kind. Thank you for the support and advice, and best of luck with your own continuing battles.
