  • NEW! October Plank Challenge ~ sign up and reporting thread

Sign up here for the plank! I propose that everyone shoud nominate a certain amount of seconds to stay in the position below. When doing it is imperative to suck your abs in. This is to run along side the challenge that Jane runs. It looks easy, but is a lot harder than first it appears.

    Taken from this website http://exercise.about.com/od/abs/ss/abexercises_10.htm

So ladies and gents. Who is in!?

Sign up below. have a quick go and see how long you can hold that position for. Then tell me how long you will do a day. Can be done in batches or all in one go.

Re: Anyone interested in a new ab challenge? To work hand in hand with the current one?

Ok, just tried it myself, and I could hold it for about 50 seconds, before I collapsed on the floor.

Rough seconds though, worked out by counting in my head

    1 thousand
    2 thousand
    3 thousand
    etc
    etc
    etc.

    Anyone else?

          I'm down for this!
I could do it for 35 seconds. My arms got tired before my abs did, though.
          Anyway.
I'll do it 3 minutes a day. Definitely not all at once. :P

Do you have to do it in bare feet or with training shoes on?

Woow, spooky - i was thinking of setting this challenge up because we have this in bodypump and I really suck at it compared to everyone else.

I'll go for 50 seconds a day too, but I might have to work up to it. I'll do the same amount of time on the side planks as well.

LOL made it hard to hold. I knew if I gave him a little shove away I'd drop the pose. Silly dog. Who knew 4 lbs of dog could be such a distraction.
