    Re: How fast are you!?

I am still recovering from my stupid broken foot so I am not allowed to go for speed. I have been slowing it down and jacking up the incline and actually burn way more calories this way.

THAT IS SO TRUE! And very wise too! I always encourage people to go "slower, longer, stronger!" That's what builds stamina, endurance and REALLY burns the fat.

      Excellent, donky!!

I only walk. On treadmill at .5 incline I have built up to 6 km/ph. Walking it is about 4 to 4.5 km/ph. I hope to get faster as I lose more, but it makes my ankles too sore at the moment.

          Re: How fast are you!?

Ok here's my long answer when I walk fast to warm up its 3.8-4.0 on the treadmill setting, when I run its 4.6-5.0 then I sprint the last 1 minute like I'm running for the finsh line at 5.6-6.0 any faster than that and my little legs look I'm getting ready to take flight.
At the end of my workout the treadmill tells me my mile average is 13:30-14:30 per mile for about a total of 2.0-2.6 miles

I would mind running at like 4.4 or so but I can't seem to catch the rythmn under 4.6.

Funny the treadmills at work run faster than those at the YMCA...they are brand new maybe that is why?

            Re: How fast are you!?

I run quite often for time rather than distance as I am timed for the National Guard PT tests. I have not done just one mile for time in quite awhile, but my times are generally around:
            2 miles - 15:00 minutes
            3 miles - 23:45 minutes
            4 miles - 32:40 minutes
I have done distances greater, but my times decrease or increase dramatically after that. I usually am around 9 to 11 minute/mile in those miles. That is my challenge for this spring as the weather gets nicer and running outside is more likely if I am ever going to run the other 6 miles (over top the normal 6 miles) in June.

              Re: How fast are you!?

My training runs are between 9:30-10 minute miles. My race pace (I've been running 8-10k's) is around 9-9:30 miles but I have done some faster than that. I did the last .6 miles in a 4.6 mile race in 3:56 which is under an 8min/mile pace, that was fun, I was a bit light headed at the finish line for that one. Maybe 300 pound guys are not meant to run that fast. LOL

Yes I'm eating a smore in the picture, how do you think I got so fat?
