so here in michigan we've finally been blessed with some spring weather. my roommate and i have been powerwalking all week about 3 miles a day. i'm not one for running...at least not yet. i'm hoping that this will help get me in better shape and tone up a bit. we'll see how the weather holds up cause i can't bear walking on the track indoors!

WTG! Powerwalking is terrific! That's how I started way back when .. and it did wonders for losing my BUTT ....

Now, I am a full fledged runner and I love it. The transition from powerwalking to running was easy ... I hope you'll eventually consider it!

    You're doing awesome! :yes

I powerwalked my way to goal.

we even have a walking challenge you can join and track your steps as you walk your way across the country or you can use your powerwalking as your activitiy for the ADBB PRES CHALLENGE exercise challenge to if you'd like to join us. And it would be a great aerobic workout for the 6WEC too. sorry you are too small to be a TDL CC exercise memeber.

        Happy low carbing.

          I ENJOY

I enjoy walking, whether it is on treadmill or outdoors. You feel so great when you're done.

Just make sure that you are walking fast enough because an extremely low intensity won’t burn enough calories to have any impact on fat loss.
There’s a minimum intensity threshold you must cross to get maximum benefit from your cardio for fat loss.

This optimal zone for fat burning is between 70-85% of
your maximum heart rate (220 - your age)

Then make sure you do daily cardio for 45 –60 minutes at the top of your target heart zone.

If you can do that by power walking - great, but some people may have to actually run to get the heart rate up fast enough.

Well Today I walked around 3 1/2 miles in an hour. I actually got in over 10000 steps so far today according to the pedometer. I am thrilled! :icondance Off to go make dinner I guess. Just wanted to thank everyone for all of their support. I will hope again for the wooshie fairy to visit me tonight but if she doesn't that's ok because I am feeling good. I will also try to get some measurements soon. Maybe I am losing inches.

No I do not. I guess I just haven't taken the time just yet to do that. I would guess it's probably about 2.5 feet, maybe a little more.

You're doing great and all that walking will burn those pounds off you, great for your heart also as you know. Just make sure you stay hydrated you'll require more water. Keep it up. ha
