I am on day 4 of induction and everything is going fine with the eating part of following induction. On the 3rd day I was showing up pink on the ketostix and besides a slight headache for a couple days I feel great. My issue currently is my running performance on induction.
Yesterday (day 3) I went on a run and and found I was running about 1min/mile slower then my normal pace. My then end of 3 miles I was pretty tired as well. On day 2 I also went for a short run and found I lacked energy, I thought it was just a bad day or something.
I did my reading and found that until your body adjusts to burning fat instead of carbs I could have decreased sports performance. How long does this normally take? I have a 5K race in about 2 weeks, should I expect to be over this by then or will my race be a wash?
