Well I am still out of the game because of the foot. I have a neoprine ankle support that seems to help a bit, but not enough to go for a power walk. I am really bummed. I feel like all my hard work is going out the window. I need to make an appt but I have so much going on and I hate the doctors office I go to because it is such a large practice and all I ever see are physician's assit. Gotta find a new doc. So anyway I have been trying to use some free weights and do some yoga over the weekend and this morning. I actually miss my walks. :sadblinky

I'm so sorry about the foot!! I was hoping by now it would be feeling better! Don't worry about losing ground (pardon the pun) ... its best to get your foot checked and then allow sufficient rest time so you don't do any more damage to it!
I am confident once it heals, you'll more than make up for lost time!!
8 miles .. ugh, the weather is warming up ... a hint of what's to come...
Anyway, I finished all 8 running, but stopped on the way home at a doctor's office for a water break ..
I gotta invest in one of those canteen thingies you wear .. anybody own one and can recommend a good one? No way am I gonna make it on those long runs in this summer heat/humidity without hydration. And I hate carrying a water bottle. I gotta have hands free! :help
Burned 757 calories, so that's the good part. Oh and the sprinkler system came on along the route on the way home and felt great!
Sorry I've been MIA yet again. This time of year at work is just nutso, and it's starting to take it's toll on me.
Still running in the mornings with the occassion evening bike ride. And bike riding every weekend. I do think I'm starting to gain weight because of the exercise. I'm 4 lbs. above stats, but haven't been more true to my exercise or this WOL is ages. So...it must be lean muscle. I'm cool with that. I FEEL smaller - no matter what the scale wants to tell me.
Definitely get the water bottle that you can wear, Betty. Holding something in your hands will give you shoulder cramps, for sure. I don't have one, so can't reccommend anything, sorry.
Great job, April, sticking to plan and exercise, despite the stress in your life right now! I hope things level off for you soon!!
Thanks, I will definitely invest in some sort of hydration device .. you're right; the bottle thing would give me shoulder cramps and I don't need that!! :yikes
My toes are killing me tonight .. I swear, I must right like a ballerina .. every single one of my toes is calloused on the tips .. how weird is that??
I only have 150 miles on these shoes, so they're far from worn out, but ya gotta wonder ...
I ran 2.6 miles tonight and didn't walk at all. I took 23 seconds off my time and ran it in 27:20. When I ran this route in the past I didn't usually walk much but I did walk some. I'm surprised I didn't take more time off. But I'm still running at a pretty slow pace. Imagine how this will be 80 pounds lighter.

Yes I'm eating a smore in the picture, how do you think I got so fat?

Are you able to go swim laps somewhere?
I have a bathing suit all ready in case I get an injury, because if I miss doing my runs and don't have anything to substitute, I'm going to be sunk, I just know it.
I can swim, however with the gym being quite far away and the commitments I have made to Destination Imagination in the afternoon and evenings, it makes it very difficult to go. I leave for work most days before 5:30 am and typically get home in the evenings around 5 or 6 at which point there is homework and dinner so going for my walks has been my way to get my exercise in until D.I. is over,(which I thought was going to be the 2nd of April, but the darn kids had to go and get 3rd place and go to state :yes ). I am going to record some yoga shows to workout to in the mornings. If I can just get in the yoga religiously I will feel like I am at least doing something. Hopefully this will clear up soon so I can get back to my walks and I will definitely see about hitting the gym when my schedule clears up a bit.
I really appreciate everyone's concern and I will be updating with the Doc's orders tomorrow afternoon.

4.6 miles this morning at 5:30, and 48 degrees, 571 calories, . Now if some of those calories burned would translate into pounds lost I'd be wearing a new outfit instead of the same ones from this winter, fall, and last summer. HRM says HR of 140----I think I need a new HRM though cause a few times it beeped at me at a screaming 188---nope, not really, a quick adjustment to the strap and it went back to 135 or 140.
We hit 79 degrees here today so spring has surely arrived. Betty, let me know what you find on the water-hydrator system cause I'll need one too in another month
Anyone watch the marathon today? When I lived in MA the only thing on the TV all day was the marathon coverage.

Still out but, feeling a bit better. I can hardly swallow and am taking a pound of galic pills I swear a day. I don't wanna be sick any more. I have been battling sickness since January and I am sick of being sick. I am going to try and jog tomorrow and see how it goes hopefully it will go well and I will be back at it. I don't want to miss any more cause I feel like crap. I am so glad to see everyone doing well I am gunna sweat like a beast tomorrw. I will jog and do weights hopefully Well I WILL cause I need to for my health. SO there you ahve it. I have to do my Chest and Triceps so that will be cool.
Take care all

5.25 miles this morning, gorgeous day here in DE with the birds singing ---
little problem on the end of the run though. The ball of my left foot went numb, hurt like *&ll till my shoe was off for awhile. I've run in these shoes for a month without problems so I don't know what is up.
Have a great run everyone, and Sarah, I hope you feel better soon.
edited to add:
During the run I crossed paths with another runner--- we first met a year ago January when I started walking; 40 pounds ago, size 18, and was only walking 2 miles on my outing. I haven't seen her out all this winter either. She said-- "You are looking AWESOME."
Ahh, what a great way to start the day.

Sarah, I'm glad you checked in .. I was getting very worried about you ... Take things slow ... don't overdo!! (I know, easy to say ...) I know what an exercise fiend you are, cuz I can totally relate! You just need to take it leisurely until you are 100% again!!
Carole, that is so motivating when someone you haven't seen in a long time sees you and gives you that WOW :yikes look!! I think alot of times we lose sight of how great we're doing, but it definitely amazes other people we haven't seen in a long time!
Oh yes, I watched bits and pieces of the Marathon ... those people just amaze me! Oh to be able to do it one day! Right now, I'm just excited about the Disney Half Marathon! 13.1 miles would be MAJOR to me!!
Off day for me today, which means no running, but I will do my weights and exercise ball to keep things tight and strong!
8792 steps
8672 aerobic steps in 75 min.
447 calories
3.88 miles
My time would have been better but I've been upping my water intake and had to stop to relieve myself twice. :yikes
Betty, I've never used one of the water bottles that you're talking about so I have no suggestions. I did think about that very thing this morning while walking. Like, how does a person who runs 8 miles get enough water? I wondered if you had a water bottle around your waist like a fanny pack. The bf and I bought a water hydration system a few years ago called a "platypus" that we take on long bike rides. You wear it on your back like a small backpack and you drink through a tube. It's pretty cool. We even freeze half the water so that the water stays alittle kooler. It works fine and holds plenty of water.
Good going to everyone who's out there moving it. I was thinking this morning that I don't know if I'll ever be able to jog, maybe in another 30-40lbs. down.
To everyone who's injured or not feeling well ..... :sympathy. This morning I was thinking of you guys, too. I was walking down a hilly part and thought, "Man, don't dare twist your ankle and not be able to exercise!" I think I know how you all probably feel. :sadblinky
