I have high platelets in the blood any advice?

Hi just gave my blood in at the surgery to get it checked a week ago.Today am I had a phonecall from the nurse saying I have high platelets in the blood she didnt say much else and told me to make an appointment with the doc.I made an appointment for next Friday as it was the only available one soon.I have searched on it a bit .I must admit Im abit scared hope alls well I will only know more after I visit the doc.Any info you have or advice will be appreciated.Thanks.
