Re: Any 50 year old members out there?? Come on in and say hi
Hi Grrls....I live in Sunny Perth...I think we have more flying insects than anywhere else in the world...so I started walking the puppy at 6am before it gets too hot...but that didnt work the flies were trying to get into my mouth my ears and my eyes! So now we're walking in the early evening...lol flies aren't so bad but then the mosquitos come out and start biting...I might have to invest in some insect repelant!
I should tell you a little about me...I work part time as an art/craft teacher in a maximumm security women's prison....its challenging
I have two kids one grrl 28 and a son 26 thats very disabled...autistic..mild ataxic cerebral palsy and legally blind...but he is a dream
Trying at this point in my life to find a balance between work/play/responsibility/creating....not doing too badly lol

Good for you Carole! A great Induction!
. I certainly don't miss the grains or starchy vegetables. We don't even use the berries except once in a while. I put blueberries and plain yogurt in our lunches and use nuts as well, but only 2 or 3 times a week. It's funny how eating lots of cheese has tapered off, altho' I will eat a cheese stick or salmon cream cheese on celery, if I'm looking for a snack. The yogurt is 6% butter fat with no sugar or sweetener added. I'll sweeten it with a little Da Vinci syrup (a capful), but my DH loves it plain, as does our son.

I don't even think about Christmas [or try not to] - until after the 1st. I do love Thanksgiving, so well into planning for that. Had a chat with both kids this weekend about what to expect...I asked each one 'how important is pie crust to you?'...funny conversations. Completely enjoyable weekend.
. It's another grey day out there. I got up at my normal time today, thank goodness, so I was able to use the treadmill this morning. I like to do my walking first then do my yoga, crunches and stair pushups. Now I just have to make our work lunches, have breakie, take my DH to work, walk the dog and get ready for work myself for 11. I did get the rest of the Christmas lights up yesterday after I was done work at 2:15. All I have to do is plug the cords into the timers on Friday morning, then they'll be on when we get home from work. We'll probably walk downtown (if DH is feeling well enough) to join the festivities and watch the parade. It's called Hanging of the Green, happens every year, and is a night parade complete with horses, wagons, bands, floats, farm tractors and Santa of course, all lit up with Christmas lights. This time last year, we had snow. This year it may be rain (hope not). But there are always lots of people/kids buying popcorn, sausages, fudge and drinking hot apple cider (free) while they visit with friends and family on the street or browse the shops. I love it
