  • Can this WOE cause you to miss a TOM?

I am on birth control pills and always start right on time. I don't feel pregnant at all. I have 3 kids so I think I would know. I just never missed a TOM before. I'm 34 so it's too early for menopause to be starting. I am 2 months into this WOE, have lost 20 pounds and exercised 5 days this week. Maybe I'm just shocking my body.

    Thanks,

I was down to 175 in 2007 and I will get back there again!

I think I've read that when you start going through ketosis, the fat that you are burning releases some extra estrogen into your body. I'm pretty sure it normalizes after a while.

I'm sure others know much more about it then I do, but it's pretty quiet around here on sunday and thought i'd chime in with my two cents.

Yep. lots of folks have experienced changes in TOM after starting this WOE. I totally missed a month last year, then I became real regular..like 27-28 days, which I have never been before.

Thanks for replying. I took a test just to be sure and it was negative. I have never missed a period other than when I was pregnant. I figured it must be the WOE.

        Thanks again.

Be glad this WOE just made you late. When I first started on Atkins, my TOM was pretty much a constant thing for about 3 months.

I must be lucky, it has made me more regular. I used to go 5 weeks between, now I am 28 days flow is not so heavy though. :joy

I am hoping for a change in TOM! After I had my daughter (she is 2 now) I packed on 60+ lbs and TOM started getting farther and farther apart until I had gone 3 months without. Went to doctor and they said it was from the weight gain. Anyway I went 2 years having TOM every once in a while...and then a couple months ago it lasted 6 weeks, extremely heavy and I ended up having a D&C in March. And now I haved had TOM since again. DH and I want another baby in a couple years so I am hoping that getting all this weight off will fix me up :joy
