Re: Is it okay for me to be angry (or at least irritated)?
I just came back to my desk from the party. I helped set-up (big mistake). I only stayed for a 1/2 hr. before I excused myself. The guest-of-honor understood because she knew it was a sad ocassion for some of us anyway. I didn't eat anything there. They had punch, fruit, nuts, TONS of cake, subway sandwiches (which I'd already eaten lunch), M&M bowls.
There were like 50 people there when I left and more were coming. The room was packed, so it was pretty easy to slip out. I'm just glad that's over, but I'm still going to miss my friend.

I could barely contain myself. Literally, I actually said, "No. Don't do that. Don't bring a cake." She looked at me like I was crazy and said, "Why?" I said, "God Tami, there has been so much cake around here. We don't need another cake. Don't bring another one." She said, "Well, it's Gretchen's birthday, so I'm bringing her a cake."
in the office at this rate. In fact, I'll be the SKINNY one if they keep eating like they are! I shouldn't be the only one complaining (and I'm not, by the way). Someone else at the party, said "Can you believe all the cake we've had lately?" Even she wasn't eating any today. I mean, don't get me wrong, cake is good, but you can overdo it. Sheesh.
