  • Don't make too big a deal, that's my job :D

    Regarding my previous mini-goal:

I don't know when it happened!

I have been having problems with my cheapy walmart scale...Soooooo, my boss weighed me at work today on a more accurate scale AND....

I weighed 290 fully dressed! Yaaaay! Goodbye 300's!!! See ya!

    Weeeeeeee!

Mini-goal number one achieved and thanks to my scale I don't know exactly when it happened...I can now go to my Dr.'s appt on the 20th and actually show her that I've been following her recommendations and I'm sure the bloodwork will prove the same. More to come.

Thanks...this is one of the first times I really feel like I can shrink...very much "in control" of my own body ( I hope that makes sense).

Oh yeah, I totally know what you mean about being "in control" and it's fabulous!

                Thanks 2big4mysize! It means alot.
Weighing over 300lbs is a mind numbing psychological torture!

Not being able to go on thrill rides at the park, or wondering if you're gonna fit in a booth when you go to a restaurant (I have not fit twice...too embarrassing for words!), or how about when you start breaking toilet seats? I've broken 3 (not my own either, uggghhh). Plus countless other embarrassing moments that I will never, ever forget that center around this issue.

So now I start to walk away from all of those embarrassing moments and refuse to let my weight rob me of my pride. This WOE rocks, and it's the only WOE for me! I don't care who believes it to be "unhealthy", or a bad idea! I feel wonderful, the likes of which I never felt restricting my calories or banning fat from my diet.

                Sidenote:

                I found this physician's scale at Amazon.com

I'm considering buying it, to accurately monitor my weight. Seems like a decent price for what it is, what do ya'll think?

Congrats on your loss so far! As far as the scale you can never go wrong with a doctor type scale. My mother has had one similar for at least 30 years, you definitely would get your money's worth.

                      Congratulations!

One hint that helped me along the way is to get rid of clothes when they are too big. It helped me to know that I couldn't gain weight because I wouldn't have clothes. Yes, I had to buy the smaller clothes because I didn't have those either. But, really who doesn't like going shopping for smaller clothes.

Ohhhh, that's my dream...to be able to shop for clothes...get this, AT ANY STORE! Oh boy...I wouldn't be cornered into shopping at Lane Bryant and Fashion Bug, or simply getting my clothes offline from Roamans and Lane Bryant...only to figure out they don't fit, or don't look right and having to send them back! (a pet peeve of my sister, is that Roamand and LB use thin models and sell from size 14-44, or something like that...she thinks it's unfair).

                        Congratulations Cathy!
Thanks Divain, now get some sleep, I'll most likely ban you in the morning

Thank you, I've been arguing with honey about it b/c he thinks $200 is too much for a scale. I'm gettin' it...he has his boat, and I'll have my...my...scale ??? LOL

Thank you soo much Lady_Hawke! Really it doesn't seem fair, because it's been sorta easy...eating yummy food and drinking lots and LOTS of water...I'm sure it'll be more of an uphill battle as I go on, but right now I'm just diggin' it...
