So Michigangirly, how DID you go??? Did you survive the trip?
IMHO it is best to try and avoid Chinese food altogether as you'll see in this thread also

At the end of the day, no matter how much you tell them at the restaurant "no carbs, no flour, no noodles, no rice, no sauce, no sugar" etc etc etc Chinese food fundamentally has a little sugar AND flour in ALL their foods
Sorry, not trying to disillusion anyone here but even stirfrys... it is VERY COMMON to lightly coat the meat with a little cornstarch and sesame oil - it's what's known as "velveting" - gives the meat a nice shine to it and a "smooth" coating to it - so unless you cook it yourself, there are LOTS OF HIDDEN CARBS IN CHINESE FOOD
