  • Re: The Never Ending Recipe Thread

LOL! What a waste of Kahlua! Gimme mine with some creme....MMM!

The chili recipe tastes great as is and is good for induction. As you go up the rungs you can add more stuff in it. Sometimes I put green peppers in mine...or mushrooms. Once I added cabbage because I was trying to make an effort to add even more vegies/carbs in. Beans are great if you are on that rung! Very satisfying!

I cut up a bunch of jalapeno peppers today. Now I just have to settle on a recipe to make jalapeno poppers out of them. Anyone got a favorite?

        • pancakes

These were created by a dear friend of mine and they are soo good!!!

          3 tablespoons Wheat Gluten
          1/2 teaspoon baking powder
          1 teaspoon Artificial sweetener
          Few shakes of Cinnamon
          2 tablespoons whipping cream
          1 tablespoon water (I use 2)
          1 tablespoon oil
          2 eggs

Mix dry ingredient. Make "hole" in center and add wet ingredients. Mix well with a whisk. Cook as you do regular pancakes. Sometimes I do them small to have a lot and sometimes I do three huge ones. I use Sugar Free syrup on them and some fruit on the side and sometimes some saugage patties or links. MMM delish! Be prepared.. this is very filling!

Carb count is approximately 7.71.. all depending on your ingredients, of course.

          • Tangy BBQ Sauce

This is an excellent sauce! My kids love it!

            1 stick of butter
            1/4 cup of vinegar
            1 Cup tomatoe Sauce
            2 tablespoons Whorch. Sauce
            1/2 teaspoon salt
            1 tablespoon mustard
            2 teaspoons lemon juice
            1 teaspoon hickory smoke
            3 packets of splenda

Melt butter in a saucepan. Add the rest of the ingredients. Bring to boil and let simmer a few minutes. Really good as a dipper for wings or brisket! MMM

I'm not sure of the carb count. Sorry!

            • Magic 3-layer sugar free jello

2 small boxes of sugar free jello
3 oz of cream cheese, softened
              4 tablespoons heavy cream

Pour 2 cups of hot water over both boxes of jello. Stir until disolved. Add cream cheese. Beat with a mixer until the cheese is completely mixed in. It will be "frothy". Add 2 cups cold water. Stir.

In separate bowl whip the 4 tablespoons of heavy cream until stiff. Lightly whisk the cream into the jello. cover and put in fridge until firm.

It will separate into three layers - The bottom will be clear, flavored creams cheese and flavored whipped cream.

It's really good and pretty!! Just enough cream to make it sweet

              • atkins-type shake!

                1/4 cup cream
                1/4 cup water
1/4 cup egg beater (one egg)
                1/4 cup cottage cheese
1 tablespoon protein shake - any flavor
                2 teaspoons vanilla
                1 teaspoon splenda
                7 cubes of ice

Put all in blender. Give it a whirl! This is so versitile. You can change the flavoring and make it become other shakes - bananna, coconut, peppermint, etc. You can also add in berries and jazz it up. you can also use choco protein and put 1 tablespoon peanut butter with it! YUM! I've been known to add 1 tablespoon of SF pudding to give it flavoring when none was avaible.

Be prepared, it makes a large glass full and it fills you up big time!! It's a great treat or shake for the morning when you don't have time to cook and NEED something.

                • root beer float

I have never done this in the blender.. I just add the cream to my glass.

                  1 can diet root beer
                  7 ice cubes
                  2 tablespoons heavy cream

Combine 1/2 of the diet root beer, all of the ice and cream. Puree until smooth. Add remaining diet root beer. Pulse to incorporate.

I am not following the thread rule by using a previous ingredient but I just had to share....this is something I made for the first time last night.

Original recipe calls for whole cauliflower head. I used an individual portion ceramic baking dish.

Cauliflower cut into bite sized pieces
                            mayo
                            extra sharp cheddar cheese shreaded

cover cauliflower pieces with mayo, I dipped mine and it worked out fine.
Sprinkle 1-2 oz. of shreaded extra sharp cheddar cheese on top.
Bake at 350 for 45 minutes.

                            Awesome and easy!
