  • Living...well!

Hello everyone. It has been nearly a month since I updated you on my life and health. As you know, a tumor was discovered on my liver in the summer when I went home to the states. I decided to attack it holisticly versus drugs and surgery and the like. I have had to make some changes to my diet that have been remarkable for me and my family. I bought a book recommended me by my physician that discussed blood type based eating. Remarkably, everyone in my family is a type O so we are all changing with mommy. The strange thing is, it is a lot like Atkins with a few exceptions. I eat absolutely no pork, wheat or gluten containing foods, and nothing that doesn't grow from the ground or is birthed by an animal. I eat lots of red meat, particularly liver and wild meats and ions of veggies. I have tried veggies that I had never heard of in my life. Leeks, Kohlrabi, ...many you have probably always eaten, but I never had. I have to have the enzymes of real food to help detox my liver. I don't eat grains at all except an occassional spoonful of brown or wild rice when fixing a meal for my family. Rice seems to the best grain for our type.

Anyway, I haven't really focused much on weight loss, just getting healthy which kind of works all else out. I am not at 251lbs. I think the last time I weighed I was 263lbs just about mid-August. I am happy about that, but more so about the fact that the pain in my abdomen has subsided and I feel more energetic than before. My face is so thin and the bones in my neck are popping out. It is like a veil of thinness is coming over me from top down. If you look at my from the shoulders up, you would think I was a size 6!

My husband as adopted my lifestyle and so have my kids. My one older boy has gained 7lbs! that is grand since he has been 57lbs for nearly 3 years. He is 10 years old! He has also began to have a better attention span in school and is more focused on his work. My husband's size 38 pants are falling off and the 36s are comfy for him again. My 2 year old is just going with the flow. I bought a high powered juicer and have been making some strange cocktails for everyone...strange in color...great for the body. My skin looks great.

Oh, and I got braces! At my age, I got braces! I just wanted to do something for myself that did not involve clothes or food and would have a lasting effect. I have wanted to get my teeth fixed for years...finally just decided to spend the money. I have a German orthodontist who is great!

It is getting cold here so I don't do my morning walks anymore. I imagine I would have lost more weight if I had been. I am trying to find an in-home alternative. I have Taebo tapes but haven't had the motivation to turn them on yet. Pray for me to do something about that soon. Exercise is imperative!

Well, that's about it I think. I have enjoyed the emails and PMs I have received from you. It has really helped me to think positively about the life I have rather than focusing on the one I may not get to have. I am thankful for my experiences, my husband, my children and my friends. God has done marvelous things for me and if he does nothing more, I could never do or say antyhing that would be equivalent in thanks. I am looking forward to a long, healthy and prosperous life and pray that for each of you.

It takes a wise woman to listen to her body and make the neccessary changes. The changes you have made are obviously the correct ones for your whole family as well.
