  • Tomorrow I begin again.

I would have said today but it is to late, I've already messed up this day but looking forward to starting again. I have to.

When I started the first time I was in a size 26W and that was getting tight. Lost down to an 18M! Thought that I could control myself. NOT. Now I'm creaping back up to the point that I'm in 20-22W again.

    I'm so ashamed of myself.

But tomorrow is a new day and I WILL start doing better. I have to or I'm going to die from all this fat.

Girl, if it wasn't for YOU, I wouldn't have gotten back on Atkins in the first place.

Guys, this woman came to visit me in Texas and brought me my first bag of pork rinds in YEARS. 109 pounds later she's here with me at ADBB! Can it get ANY better than this?

      I don't see how!

Dianne, welcome to ADBB! I am so happy you are here.

Hi, Blue, glad you found us and joined. There was another post yesterday about having a little trouble getting started on this plan and some of us do. If you can, get rid of all the foods that aren't on plan and just don't have them in the house. You can donate them or give them away to your skinny friends. You'll never need them again anyway cause this is a lifetime committment.
Then fill your refrig and cubboard up with stuff that you can eat, make snacks to have around and then you wont be tempted.
Also come around often cause this is a great bunch and you will enjoy this forum and this board.

          Hi Bluegrass
Good for you on not giving up on the WOE

BUT - if you 'slipped up' in the morning or at lunchtime you do not have to 'waste' the rest of the day in off-plan eating just because you are not having an Atkins-perfect eating day from the start.

We all make mistakes and bad choices early in our Atkins lives (and later too) but if you do, just STOP there and then and make your NEXT mouthful Atkins-legal, dont wait till the next day to give yourself permission to get back on track
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

                Re: Tomorrow I begin again.

Here I am Cleo...... was gone most of the day yesterday at the local hospital. My grandmother, age 93, fell and broke her hip.

Desertthorn, I know all about giveing my junk food away........ oh boy do I! First time I cleaned out my cabinets and fridge and freezer and gave it all to my daughter. I've been trying to remember just how many plastic grocery bags full there were.... 10-15 I think. She is as much underweight as I am over weight. But she has health problems (Crohns) that she has to keep so much under control that a lot of the foods that she dearly loves she can't eat, but in tiny portions.

They just a few months ago opened up a "Curves" that is next door to the hospital. I've been meaning to stop and check it out and TODAY when I go up to visit Granny I'm going to!

This is my pledge to myself........

                Today I WILL eat RIGHT.
Today I WILL get off the couch and MOVE IT!
Today I WILL get my life back on track and stay there for the rest of my life!

                      Re: Tomorrow I begin again.

Bluegrass in the park, I hope your grandmother is doing alright. Did you check out “Curves” today? I’ve decided not to join a gym. I found it better to exercise at home by listening to my favourite songs or watching telly.
It’s absolutely brilliant idea to get rid of junk food – out of sight, out of mind! Unfortunately I can’t do that because of my husband. He likes potatoes, fruits, and all other stuff which is not allowed for us. But I’ll resist to the food because this time I’m so determined to achieve goal weight.

                      Today’s menu:
                      B: 2 Devilled – Salmon Eggs
L: 2 oz tuna, 2 oz cheese. 1 big leaf of lettuce and 3 cucumber slices.
D: 6 oz cooked lamb with salad (1 tablespoon chives, 1 medium tomato, 5 cucumber slices, 2 Romaine lettuce leaves and 2 tablespoons of sour cream).

                      Cal 1078 (F61%, P35%, C4%). Net Carb 11g

How are you doing today? I don’t feel hungry or crave for carbs. No headaches, dizziness.
I did 50 minutes exercises so far and I’ll do some more.
                      Talk to you tomorrow.

                        Re: Tomorrow I begin again.

Well I did VERY well today....... I even stayed WELL under 20 carbs! But then I got the swift kick in the behind that I needed to.

Back in October there was an event here in my home town, Bikes, Bluegrass & BBQ. I've been putting on a Bluegrass event once a month since July and this time too. The biggest difference is that this time is was filmed by a local television station and was shown on their local channel. Seeing as how I don't have cable here I wasn't able to watch it when it first aired but was able to order a copy of it on DVD. WELL>>>>> it came today!!! I was shocked to finally open my eyes and see me in the way that others see me (has anyone else noticed that our eyes fool ourselves when we look into the mirror at home?)......... well Miss Piggy is what I looked like! OH MY GOODNESS I bout died! Now I'm so ashamed to know that I've finally saw myself the way other people see me.

I spent most of the day at the hospital with Granny, which is doing just wonderful, new hip and all...... that is great considering her age........ and I never did get a chance to stop to check Curves out. I'll be back up there tomorrow and I'm going to stop in BEFORE I go to the hospital. I've got to really get going on this....... Bluegrass starts back up in May 2006 and before I walk out on that stage to introduce the first Group..... I will be a slimmer person this time! I swear I will! I have to.

                        Today I've only eaten:
                        B: 2 eggs with sausage
L: Salad (lettuce/spinach/onion/grilled chicken and cheese)
D: ONE raw hot dog..... (NO BUN-NO CHILI-NO NOTHING!)

I'm not hungry....... running on nerves I guess. That is a good thing for me.

Jurgita....... here is an email addy for you to contact me direct.....

I’m glad to hear your grandma is doing just fine.
There is no need to be ashamed of yourself. You think you don’t look great but you are doing something about it! Just don’t give up! Can you imagine – we have done 2 days already!
Do you use www.fitday.com for counting amount of calories, Net Carbs? Doing Atkins diet before I’ve noticed weight loss depended not only on Net Carbs but on calories intake as well. So this time I’m counting both – Net Carbs and Calories.

                          Today’s menu:
B: Omelette (2 eggs, 1 rasher of bacon, 2 rings of red pepper, fresh parsley and 1 tablespoon of butter).
L: 3 oz tuna in sunflower oil, 2 lettuce leaves, 3 cucumber slices.
Dessert: Cheesecake (2.5 oz cream cheese, 0.6 egg, 1.3 fl oz double cream). I decided not to use any sweetener.
D: Spinach Stuffed Chicken Breast (the recipe from South Beach Diet Cookbook) (1 skinless chicken breast, 1 oz frozen spinach, 1 chive, 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese, 1 rasher of bacon, 1 teaspoon olive oil, 1 tablespoon butter, fresh parsley, 2 tablespoon fresh lemon juice). Side salad (3 romaine lettuce leaves, 1 medium tomato, 3 cucumber slices and 1 teaspoon sunflower oil).
                          Cal 1221(F 68%, P 29%, C 4%). Net Carbs 10g

                          Today’s exercises – 42 min.

Small comment on your menu – you had your veggies for lunch only. Atkins suggests spreading your vegetables/salads throughout the day.

Hi there, ladies! I hope you don't mind me stopping by to say hello.

{{{Dianne}}} I am so glad your grandmother is feeling better. You will be the hottest act on the stage when Bluegrass season begins again!

Hi {{{Jurgita}}} I don't count calories in induction but I do post-induction. Induction's a kick in the pants enough without worrying about your calorie intake, and the amount of satiety in the high fat diet naturally keeps your calories low.

I am so glad to see you are both doing well. As you well know these first few days are absolute heck.
