  • Whoooooooooossssshhhh!!!!

    FINALLY!!!

    ive been hovring around the same couple of pounds for about 20 days...

    and now i saw significant change!!!

    3 days ago, I was 178.... today I'm 175!! that was 3 pounds in 3 days!!!

    yeaheayyyyyyyyyy!!!

    I had decided already to be patient and wait the stall out, but every little encouragement helps!!!!

    thanks for the support, guys. i probably would have bailed if i didnt have you around.

    now i gotta treat myself to something... I might even make it to my mini goal on the 22nd! we'll see, in any case, I'm happy now, and gonna stick with it, it really pays off...

        we know you are treating yourself with a nonfood item cause food should never be viewed as a reward for something done well any more. but we want to knwo what what you getting????

                  thanks guys....

                  I have my heart set on a little underwater music player to keep me company during my swimming...

                  I hadn't planned on it as a reward... I kinda feel like I have already earned it . I went from only knowing how to swim doggie-style in february, to doing a full 2.75 km non-stop!

                  it makes sense not to use food as a reward, but it's so hard-wired in my brain! I had planned on getting my dad to take me out for a fancy steak...

                  it IS kinda hard to think of rewards that aren't food... I'll be moving soo, so I dont want to get any extra "stuff"... I have a hard time spending money on myself, so I don't usually get myself toys... hm... im not very "girly" so nail-polish or make-up doesnt get my attention...

                  anyone have any non-food rewards to inspire me?

                    Way to go!

                    For rewards, if you're not into the girlie things, how about a good book or 2, a magazine subscription, a new camera to take pics of yourself with and watch your weight drop, ...or even just a long hot bath with some bubbles or bath salts to relax. My last reward was giving myself a long overdue pedicure.

                        My last two rewards were 1) a subscription to a low-carb magazine and 2) two new pairs of shorts to work out in. Kinda boring but I felt like a million bucks running around in them.

                        The subscription was for getting below 250, the shorts were for getting through finals week alive.
                        No stats. Not weighing anymore ever. Will post "before and after" pictures when I want to. The end.

                          Ditto on the massage. Especially if you are swimming and exercising a lot.

                            good ideas!
                            right now i have plenty of free time, but i was thinking another good reward would be time. extra time to do something you like: 3 hours with your favorite hobby, or a night away from the kids, or a special afternoon with a friend...

                            i remember a song i used to like when i was a little kid... it was about somebody in a toy store, asking for a million different things... and the one he kept asking for was time: unhurried time... time to play ball... time to read comic books...
                            it seemed like a lovely idea... and i've been trying to incorporate it into my life
