Re: How to determine goal weight?

See how you feel at different weights and move your projected goal up or down accordingly. I've never really put much faith in charts like that since there's such a wide range and 30 lbs makes a **** of a difference on my frame so they were never really helpful.

If you're prone to seeing yourself with an overly optimistic or negative eye then have a trusted friend advise you. The reason I say this is because when I was losing weight I kept moving my goal down lower because I still wasn't happy with my body. Technically I never "reached goal" even though people around me told me to stop because I was getting too thin. I also had an old friend who figured since she'd maintained the same weight for years (obese) that it had become her normal weight and she was happy with that so it works both ways.

2Big4mysize ~ thanks for the sage advice! I really appreciate it - you are right!

Dolphin ~ we are so much alike! I can get away with it at 180, at 160 i looked pretty darn good (last time i was feeling good in clothes!) and 140 was probably ideal. That was my weight Junior year in college - and i have to say that i had it going on a bit! Hee hee. I'll have to find a picture from then to share...

And again, i know it is silly for me to even be thinking of these things now. Heck, i am only at the end of my first (re-first) week of induction! And i have long road to go... but i will get there. Each day at a time...

And as my dad always told me, "This too shall pass." Keep on keeping on, everyone!

I like your style!!! Yep we are a lot alike! Its good to plan, visualize and keep focus of why you want to be at a nice weight. Whatever keeps you going you gotta hold on to that in order to have victory. Because regardless 6, 12, even 24 months is gonna be here and gone in a blink of an eye. I just keep thinking like I did before when I lost the 60 lbs. and that was this: What do I want to look like 6 months from now?, you know. I mean I may not lose all of it in a certain frame I'll like to and I'm not expecting all that, but I will look a whole h3ll of a lot better than I do today, mark my word. Your Dad is so right and I adhere to that philosophy, that's how I can keep my head up and keep on keeping on as you said That's what's up!
