  • It's Saturday, How we doing?

    It's Sat. I have no idea how everyone handles the weekend, it's such a different time of the week.
    I am good. I slept in this morning for the first time all week. I will ride the bike shortly and spend some quality time reading this morning since there is very little here to read and post to.

    I have been cheat free since I started induction this time. I slept well last night. I didn't have the muscle soreness I have been having after exercising last night.

    I have to cook breakfast for the family. My hubby got the day off of work today which is unusual. Then we have to go to play rehearsal. All three of us are in Oliver at our local community theater. I will probably do my ellipitical this afternoon unless hubby wants to walk around the track and then I will wait to exercise until this evening when it cools off a little. We will probably watch a few episodes of Prison Break. We have half the season from last year on the media center pc and need to watch it before the new season comes out. Then hubby and I will probably play some puzzle pirates.

      Only the second day for me, so I expect to start feeling really miserable any moment now . I hate induction flu. Thankfully my head cold is going away so I won't suffer both at once. I made the flax muffin recipe for breakfast today, but I should have doubled it. So I'm off to cook some bacon or something for a snack. I ate beef jerky yesterday when I got snacky, but I probably ate too much. Not for the carbs, but for the sodium! On the other hand I've drunk so much water that I am living in the bathroom.

      Semi-amusing story (well, not really) I decided to climb the stairs back to my office after lunch yesterday. I work on the 8th floor of an office building, which means each flight is more like 2 flights of normal stairs because of ceiling heights, etc; There was a guy behind me who caught up and then walked the rest of the way with me. I thought he was just being friendly until I realized he probably thought I was about to die in that stairwell. About the 6th floor I was seriously questioning my will to live. When I hit the 8th floor I was about to pass out. I had the ringing in my ears, tunnel vision, etc; it was a real struggle not to just keel over. So now I have a new mini goal. To make it up those stairs without people considering whether they need to dial 911 for me.

        Pstansel - great job giving it a shot on the stairs. That will be a great avenue for exercise for you. And maybe the guy was just hanging out and chatting w/you.

        I'm hanging in today. A little low on foods and funds, so have to consider some inexpensive grocery shopping today.

          Morning everyone... Luna is up bright and early (forgetting the Saturday-mom-sleeps-in-rule) and i am reheating some leftovers from last night. Tomorrow is weigh-in! I am feeling good on extended induction, not bored yet and i think i'll stay on for awhile longer.

          Pstansel - Good for you on the stairs! That is a great goal... keep up with it and one day it'll be a breeze for you. I had to chuckle at your description of walking up the stairs because i know that feeling all too well! And you try to hold your breath so no one can tell you are out of it. Man, stairs are hard! Keep up the good work though, you'll be there in no time!!!

            Of course I just ruined my Saturday by breaking the little toe on one of my feet. Wow that hurt. It looks like a little black and blue sausage right now. I have a long history of breaking my toes (I once broke 8 at the same time) and it's the 3rd time I've broken this particular one. They all look bent and crooked! Thankfully I don't put alot of pressure on the ourside of my foot, but man it's an inauspicious way to start the weekend!

                So far so good, for being the weekend. Sometimes it's harder on the weekend, when you are not working, keeping busy. I'm on my 7th cheat free day, and I don't intend to give up now! I'm about to have some steak and eggs...mmmmm oh , and water of course!

                  pstansel_ hang in there girl, I think maybe you should cut the stairs in half, so you can do it more often, and after you build up a base with the first 4 flights, you can then add another 2 and another 2....and then you will be alive and THRIVING when you walk into the 8th floor...Just food for thought...

                  Glad to see everybody checking in and I can know about you guys. I am off to my first birthday party while on induction. I just packed my bag full of little finger foods I can eat. I might eat all the way over and all the way back, my food that is...
                  I will have one piece of sugar free gum with me, and yes I know to count the carb...
                  Today I mixed up my workout. I was going to write about "day 12 and variety" but I have not had any time to think that out, but I am beginning to thing about "ruts and variety, and when you need eat"... Maybe Monday morning....Sunday is my killer day, I am gone so long...and have to prepare early in the morning and have meetings all after noon tomorrow. So, ALL if you don't hear much from me til Monday, it's because I am just very busy...these next 24 hrs have a lot going on.
                  Good luck this weekend, stay touch, stay cheat free, stay strong, visit that list on pg131 in the book about the symptoms that are potentially gone in your life....

                    WELL MY SATURDAY STARTED OUT AS USUAL. I DID'NT GET TO SLEEP IN BECAUSE MY KIDS THREE AND TWENTY MONTHS OLD DECIDED OF ALL MORNINGS TO BE BRIGHT AND EARLY BIRDS. MY DH HAD TO GO GET THE CAR FIXED SO I HAD TO GET UP WITH THEM. IN THE MIDST OF THAT I JUST DID MY DAUGHTERS HAIR GOT BOTH OF THEM DRESSED AND GOT MYSELF DRESSED. NOW I'M ON MY WAY TO THE LAUNDRY MAT BECAUSE MY WASHING MACHINE IS BROKE. MAYBE SOMETIME TODAY I'LL FIND SOME DOWN TIME. IN THE MEAN WHILE I'M GOING TO BE WORKING ON MY WATER INTAKE WHICH SHOULD BE 154OZ. TODAY.

                      Heh.. thanks, but I'm a guy I actually wish I could do it that way, but we have keycard entrances from the stairs. Mine only works on the 8th floor, so either I go all the way up or I go back down.

                          Today was good! I started really keeping tabs on my carbs so I'll know my allowance and what foods to stay away from - moving up the rungs!

                          Food, water and exercise was great. I'm not hungry and nothing seems to be what I want to eat. i'll just go to bed. My muscles are soo sore! Lots of exercise in the yard
