  • Starting over

Well I am tired of being fat all over again...... I was on the Atkins plan about 9 months ago and I was down from 265 to 250.... Then my son was born and in the last 6 months I have quit smoking and put on 25 lbs.

I am now 275 and feeling horrible about myself.... I would like to get down to 200 but my fiance says I will look to skinny since I am 6'2" but all the hieght to wieght things say my ideal wieght it something like 185 I think ......

I am starting today all over and I think I need an Atkins buddy .... does anyone want to go through the induction with me ... like a support person .... I will be there for you as long as your there for me .... keep each other on the path to success?

feel free to email me rdaggett@gmail.com or IM me

            Re: Starting over

The hardest thing for me is that I dont like to shop too much..... I am to the point for a long time now that I dont eat for enjoyment .... I eat because my body needs to .....

This all happened about 7 or so years ago when I was working hard and long hours .... I would eat 1 time a day or less because I was working so many hours .... this killed my metabolism and because of the rut that I was in I never would go shopping and now I hate shopping :P

if I could eat A B & C a day ...... I could do that and be happy since I could shop for just those things ..... some would say I would get bored with it ..... honestly I know I would not .....

before when I lost the wieght I would eat 2 scramble eggs and 3 sausage patties for breakfast with green peppers .... snack of cheese in the morning lunch 2 hamberger patties with cheese and salad.... snack of cheese .... and same for dinner .... I was more than happy seeing the weight come off .....

any ideas of a simple daily plan like this ..... ?

Hey there Robert, Welcome back! If you ever need any encouragement or support you can either post on the boards (these people are FANTASTIC about motivation!!) or send me a PM. I can help ya out the best I can. About the daily plan.......I like to vary my meals from day to day so I don't get bored with the same ol' same ol'. The only thing that stays the same is I have a salad at lunch and LOTS OF WATER throughout the day. Fix yourself an omelet stuffed with cheese and sausage or bacon for breakfast. Maybe have a beef stick or vienna sausages for a snack. At supper fix you some cheesy bacon chicken, a different kind of steak, or polish sausages for supper. Just check the carb counts and your variety can be infinite!! (As long as it's on the acceptable food list!) Good Luck Robert!!!

                Hi Robert, welcome to STAC.

If you don't get bored with food, then I'd just find a plan that works for you and go with it. The menu you posted before is perhaps a bit light on veggies, I'd probably do something like this:

breakfast: scrambled eggs and sausage, and if you like green peppers throw in a handful of green peppers into the eggs

                snack: cheese

                lunch: burger patty and salad

snack: cheese, or celery and cream cheese

dinner: chicken breast cooked in butter or olive oil, cup of broccoli, small salad. Blue cheese dressing for fat.

That might be a bit more balanced for you.
