its horrifying to think that I have do this all over again but in the same vein, who do we have to blame but ourselves?
The first time I did atkins it was 2003ish...had that moment of realization at a New Years party and busted my *** to lose 80 pounds in almost 7 months. Keep it off for a long time too, met the woman who would become my wife. Enjoyed life being the "thin person inside".
However, I ended up on the wrong end of the stick with a job, started having to work nights, then later nights, wasnt getting home till 2am or later. Began to get depressed, and finally we decided that we had enough of Pittsburgh and moved to Atlanta.
A new change for both of us, but again, unfortunatly our eating habits grew steadily worse. We lived with my dad for about 6 months while we got on our feet to buy our house and living there was a constant late night eating/fast food fest. And when we first moved into the house, things didnt change despite our wanting them to. Im sure all of us know the difference between wanting to lose weight and actually willing yourself to do it.
So after 3 almost 4 years I had gained back all my weight that I had lost and looked worse for wear. My wife and I finally made it down the aisle and after looking at my wedding pictures, I was simply horrified that I had let this happen to myself.
So in a second moment of truth, I buckled back under and set upon the weary path again. I have been going strong since about the second week of May and I have lost about 45 pounds so far. With a whole lot more to go. I stay almost completely on induction with the occasional veggies or chicken caesar salad, but its never easy.
I just greatly respect the people I have read about here, the support system that you have all set up to make sure that everyone has the chance.
So from an outsider looking in, thank you. This site has been a great help. Hopefully I will be able to take those next long steps (damn plateaus) with the help of you people.
