  • weightloss question induction

Today MOnday is 14 day but since i cheat I have to start over. My question is will the most weight at one time be lost during induction or right after? I've lost 6 1/2 lbs so far. just wondering if less weight per week will come off or could a big change happen and could i shred weight even faster now?

What has been your past experiences?

Hey Dreamin, I would just keep going, you can extend induction, which I did. Others will say, head over the OWL and go to rung 1 with is added veggies.
Different strokes for different folks! I would say personally, since I've done this more than a few times, I needed to do what would help me create a lifestyle mentality.
If that's beginning again, or keep going onward extending your induction or heading up the rungs...say and do whatever helps you create a day in, day out lifestyle.
When you decided to do this as lifestyle it changes how you do things today and tomorrow...there is no end, just modifications as you go through the phases.

      Hi, Dreamin

There is really no way to predict exactly how the weight will come off and when. I re-started on Feb. 25th of this year and have lost 40 pounds. I lost 7 during Induction and since then, there have been weeks when I lost no pounds and weeks when I lost up to 3 pounds... it just varies. There are sooo many factors that can influence the number on the scale, so it is best not to become a slave to it. Lots of people rely on the tape measure to gauge losses. Personally, I just always keep a pair of shorts or pants that are a size too tight and try them on periodically. I love being able to retire these once too tight clothes to the giveaway box because they get too big. It keeps those weeks when the scale is being mean in perspective.

I stayed on Induction for a extra couple of weeks, but my weight didn't change much during those extra weeks. I moved on to Rung 1 (more veggies) and immediately started loosing again. I stayed on that rung for a couple of months, trying out all kinds of new veggies and on the weeks I didn't add a new food, I upped my carbs some.

Jess is exactly right - this WOE is something you will do for the rest of your life, and it is all about learning about your body and what you need to do to make this a lifestyle. Patience is so very important! Make a comitment, do your best to carry it out, and you will do well. Good luck!

I wouldn't worry too much about the scale--otherwise you might end up crazy over a pound here and there.

I tend to look at daily numbers in terms of a general and broader downward spiral. Some weeks will be better than others but as long as you keep going down it's all good.

I also have come to expect a pause after a big number week. Last week was a big number one for me and this week I'm sort of in a holding pattern. I'm fine with that for now because I know eventually I'll start heading down again. The number lost really doesn't matter.

I know it's hard to stay cheat free, but if you can make it I think (based on my own personal experience) you'll shed the most during the first two weeks.

Good luck and hang in there!

          Re: weightloss question induction

Well, this time around, I lost 13 lbs. in the first week, and not one ounce in the second.

The first time I did induction, I lost 7 lbs in the first week and a few in the second, and the second time I did induction, it seems to me I lost hardly anything at all.
          Start date: 7/29/2007

          Scale: SW:235 CW:193
          GW:150

Tape Measure: I've lost 42.5 inches as of 3/15/2008

          Mini goals:
          215 - met 9/10/07
          205 - met 10/17/07
          195 - met 2/20/08
          180

          I survived a two-month stall!

Jess and Mitzi- I'm going to stay on induction one more week. I started exercising last night so I think one more week will do me some good-mentally and physically. I dont measure myself but go by the way my clothes fit. BTW- you both look great! Congrats on the weithloss your pics are a great motivation for me- yes, I can do it!
