Good morning STACers. Now that we've cleared this hurdle, we have a long month ahead of us. I learned a great deal while I was away for Thanksgiving. It's put me in a very reflective spot with my own journey.
On my personal journey, of which I must have explained to all the in-laws 2 or 3 times, my REAL GOAL is to be here living a consistent low carb lifestyle. I've kept my weight off since April, and I intend to keep it off and keep getting into the size 6 jeans.
On my trip I battled my own attitude more than anything else. There were more foods available to me on a consistent basis than I am use to. I keep a pretty clean low carb house, and even tho my husband does not participate, his higher carb foods are good ones. There were sweets and treates everywhere, and I only brought chicken to battle with. That's twice now I "thought" I could easily make do with just a choice or two. So I set things up to be a very tight, very few option 3 days of eating. I did not pack a wide range of enjoyable foods, I packed to save space in the car!
I basically did something very similar with the Australian trip...
I did not set myself up to thrive on low carb! I did not thrive, I came home relieved with my greater wide variety.
I have to do the work to set myself up to win! I have to stay ahead of these things.
I want to encourage you, that when you loose all your weight, and you have a good way of living happening, you will still need to maintain weightloss, which is where alot of the failures start to repeat themselves.
Consistency is a key for me. Planning for those out of control places is something I am going to have to take a harder look at.

) But at least I can enjoy it clean for a moment. I am still very happy with myself for making it through this holiday! Normally I never would have made it. I would have taken the day off and That would have led to 2 days then to 3 days then I'll start again on Monday...you know how it goes! But I didn't do that! I stayed strong and I am so happy I did. In fact I was faced with more temptations even after Thursday and I just told myself that if I could pass up pie, rolls, candied yams, and mashed potatoes than I could pass up this! It was very empowering!
