  • Roll Call - Monday 9-29

    Happy Monday Everyone!!

    This is the end of Week 6 for me .... I hope to someday lose the habit of coutning weeks

    Making one small commitment to myself each week. This week I comit to doing cardio for 45 mins sessions - no more of these 30 min sessions. I KNOW I can squeeze an extra 15 mins out of my day to support my commitment to myself, my health and a better body!

    Hope everyone is off to a great start today ~ think healthy

    Good morning, it's going to be a beautiful Indian Summer day here in the NW, I can just tell! grniid, you make me feel like an absolute wimp, I was so proud yesterday to move up from 15 min to 20 min on the exercise bike! haw, haw, haw!

    This is still going well for me, though I admit I went overboard over the w/e. On Saturday I ate very little real food but did consume a whole can of pumpkin with butter and cream over the course of the day. That was an accomplishment! Also drank wine on Saturday night. I tend to "blame" this behavior on the 2 sweet treats I had on Friday, but the real culprit is TOM. My emotions have been all over the map, even a few moments of dread and despair and what's the use. But those were temporary and I've been able to keep a positive mental spin for the most part. And things have moved along so I know the past 3-4 days was the worst of it, emotionally.

    Yesterday evening I even got my lunch ready for taking to school today and it's just right in the frig waiting for me. I better go take it out and put it in my pack so I won't forget. Have a great day everybody...

    Goal 3: Walk, exercise bike, golf, or yoga 15-30 min, 3x/wk. Consistency counts more than anything.

    DON'T START OVER, GO FORWARD!

      Grn - Awesome job making the commitment to squeeze a little more out of your workouts!

      Red - Where is Hoqiuam? I'm flying up to Seattle on Friday to visit Ma & Pa Kettle for the weekend. Love it up there I'm hoping the weather is going to be pretty - according to weatherchannel.com, it doesn't look like it's gonna happen the way I want it to

      Anyhoooooooooooo, I'm off to the gym for a little HIIIII-YAHHH! Body Combat class - (stairmaster 20min before ) and off to lunch with some pals.

      Hope everyone has a super slammin day!

        OH No!! Not my intention to make you feel like that

        My deal is I have only lost 2 pounds in 3-4 weeks - NOT good considering I am just getting started again and my 30min walks at lunchtime just arent cutting it - I am hoping to find that with a little more exercise I will up my lbs per week lost to be around 2.

        And trust me .. you can go a lot longer on an exercise Bike than I can!! I tried 10 mins on Sat and almost died! LOL

            colleenie, hoquiam is about 2 hours west of seattle, almost to the beach. let me know if you make it out here! and just remember about the weather, it changes rapidly so there's no real accuracy to what they predict 4-5 days away. we are definitely in indian summer, which we don't always get, and sometimes it has lasted well into october, so you could get a pleasant surprise.

            no, no, grniid, i was just joking! yeah, my years of being a bicycle enthusiast when i was younger are standing me in good stead now that i'm just doing exercise bike, but truthfully the limit to the activity is tolerance to the saddle! i'm hoping to get back out on the road for some long rides, i just love it. of course that will mean treating myself to a new road bike, which i sort of have in the back of my head as my ultimate reward for meeting my weight goal. whenever that is!

              Good Morning all! It's a great Monday morning, 2 days of my 5 day challenging period is over and I have actually lost 1 lb. Saturday evening dinner party, I prepared the food, so I was in total control of what went into my mouth. Sunday dinner, was my FIL's B'day, and there were alot of high carb type foods. I brought strawberries & whipped cream for dessert for dh and me, and was not tempted by the black forest cake (which is one of my favourite). I was the only one in the whole bunch that did not have a piece of cake, even after 4 people kept offering me the cake. So I feel proud of myself. Only 3 more dinners & luncheons to fight off!

                  Whew- been off here for several days so playing catch up reading some posts

                  Got thru my garage sale on saturday - carport cleaned back off again so now have lots of time on my hands= roflmao!

                  I did set a goal to go to the gym at least 2 days a wk while my youngest is at her mothers day out-

                  AND I have met as of today my first mini goal!! yea-- cant wait for the next one since it is a reward for getting there-

                  Enjoy the weather if you are anywhere but here- lord it is so hot and muggy here
