Re: Monday roll call~~4/247
Good morning everyone. Mondays are my Weigh Day. I was down a pound (I guess, darn analog scale) and I'm glad of that since I started doing an hour instead of a half an hour on the treadmill.
And even better news is that I'm comfortable in a pair of size 12 dress pants this morning.
Anyway, I get so sick and tired of obsessing over my weight. Thursday is my anniversary of my one year as a non smoker. I weighed 179 when I quit and today I was 185.
I've gained and lost five pounds about four times in this past year. Sigh...
One year is down. Time for my metabolism to come back to life.

Re: Monday roll call~~4/247
Good Morning Folks!
We’re experiencing a little summer weather here in CT – it was 85 yesterday and will be about the same through Tuesday night! I am loving it J I did a lot in the yard yesterday.. first time I mowed the grass since last fall – I forgot how much effort the push mower requires! It wiped me out! Lol
Today is also my weigh day – I am down almost 2lbs for the week. I am pleased things are moving again.. I’ll take 2lbs a week down over any stall, plateau or gain– but sometimes it just doesn’t seem like its happening fast enough.
Kelly – Congrats on 1 yr smoke free and the pound down!
I restarted charting my foods on Fitday this morning – lets see how that effects my losses over the next couple weeks. This could be interesting! Lol
I know Mondays can stink .. so I’ll offer my 3 things that make Mondays tolerable:
1. It’s a new week at work – with so many laid off recently – I am thankful to be here
2. My house is usually clean from the weekend so barely any chores to do.
3. It’s my weigh/measure day – and I usually have some sort of progress to see
On that note… Happy Monday!

Re: Monday roll call~~4/247
Good morning...looks like a slow day if I'm only the 5th post!
I didn't check in this weekend...but I did ok-ish. Friday was no problem (you'll see why below)...Saturday and Sunday I was very low with my food intake and even lower with my veggies. I'm not even sure I could name a veggie I ate on Sunday. Shame on me! What's worse was that Saturday night, I ordered chicken wings with no breading to-go from Outback...got home and found they had "thoughtfully" put in a loaf of their honey wheat bread and some butter...and I couldn't help myself and had like 1/4 of it. Good news is I didn't go insane over my carb limit for the day since I'd barely eaten as it was...bad news is I knowingly ate wheat AND sugar. The wings were fabulous, by the way. Anyway, it's over...I didn't suffer any carb cravings, and my scale said 272.8 this morning, which is a lovely site to see. I'm still burning ketones, but the strip is lighter than usual for me.
Friday I made myself 4 of those cauliflower pizza crusts, froze three and then put together a friday night pizza for myself. I was enjoying my pizza tremendously when 3/4 of the way through it I suddenly got this feeling like I was gonna vomit...sudden queasiness with that little lump in the back of your throat. I had to stop eating and lay down for an hour. This feeling lessened, but did not go away the whole rest of the night...it was the strangest thing! I have NO idea what that was about. I was so scared that I would actually puke and then as a result never be able to eat cauliflower again...this would be tragic! I probably eat it 5 times a week right now! I didn't eat plain M&M's for 20 years because of an incident when I was 8...not the same, but you get my drift.
I went to the gym on Saturday...did 10 minutes on a recumbent, 10 on a treadmill (low hr though) and the big news is I tried getting on a spinning bike and succeeded to pump out like 5 minutes on that thing! The leg motion for that is MUCH easier for me than the recumbent, but the bike seat sucks pretty bad. I'll talk to my PT today to see if this motion is going to have a negative impact on my hip. I think MAYBE I can try some spinning classes given this new find. That would be fun. I'd use the class for motivation even though I wouldn't be able to do the same thing as everyone else, per se.
I stayed up quite late Saturday night and consequently slept till 1pm Sunday!!! 1pm!!! My body must have needed it but it sure made for a short day!
Food plans for today...egg-sausage quiche for breakfast, lunch is this green enchilada chicken thing I made for dinner last night, snack is celery and cream cheese and dinner is currently planned to be chicken and broccoli alfredo...but I'm really getting to a point where I don't need to eat much anymore so making dinner is sometimes a struggle.
Dana...great monday outlook!
Kelly, congrats on the anniversary! That's fantastic!
Time to get workin...

That's 22lbs MORE than I weighed the first time around. It's 10 years later...I know this will work for me again.

Magnificent Monday STAC'ers
The sun is shining and almost all of the snow burms are gone in Anchorage. I spied some green grass sprouting from beneath the brown dead grass that once was....
I had a good day yesterday. Lots of exercise and good food. For dinner I made Heroin wings and curry vegis (rice for the carb eaters). Hubby ate the heck out of it. Also I had found a great deal on some beautiful strawberry's yesterday. I almost didn't but them. I walked past them at least 5 times..... I made white choc mousse with whip cream and white choc sf pudding, sliced up a couple of these jems and we had a phenominal dessert. Again hubby couldn't get enough.
Becki- I have the same problem with foods that make me sick. I am so glad you didn't get sick with cauliflower... What would you do for rice and pizza?
Dana I like your positive outlook
. Good job on the 2#'s.
Kelly- I have gained and lost this current 25 # (plus some extra) about 10 times in the last 10 years. Congrats on the 1 yr smoke free and the loss
.
Have a wonderfully Magnificent Monday

Julie...I haven't done the rice thing yet (though I really should)...but I couldn't live without my Mockaroni and Cheese with hot dogs! It's my favorite quickie meal.
Dang...now that you mention it, I coulda added the riced CF to last nights dinner and it would have been really good. Dabgummit! Oh well! Next time.

Re: Monday roll call~~4/247
It's REALLY quiet around here - it's 3pm on the west coast and roll call isn't even on the 2nd page!!
I just finished eathing a late lunch - salad greens, tuna, a little chopped tomatos & onions with a ranch dressing. MMM! Wish the salad bar downstairs had had some Korean kimchi to add... that's so good... it really zests things up! I think I'll have to go to a local Korean market and get some for home!!
Had a pretty good weekend. Definitely on plan. My brother had us over to his place last night for a BBQ - he made my burger without the sauce and I ate it with lettuce, tomatos, mayo and yummy avocado! I was happily full after that. Then everyone walked down to the local gelato place where I learned they had sugar-free gelato. I splurged and got a single scoop in a bowl (everyone else had waffle cones - love them, but didn't miss it). Very creamy and delish, but I only ate half because I was full.
After my big cheat last weekend I promised myself I wouldn't weigh in until today - so one week off the scale, hard for a daily weigher. Fact is, I didn't want to see how much I had gained as a result of my 3 days of gluttony!! Anyway, I'm happy to report that I'm at 197 - the same weight I was before my cheat. Of course I had hoped to report that I was down a pound or two from 197 but I'm not going to beat myself. It'll come off in due time!
Kelly - congrats on 1 pound down and, on Thursday, your 1 year aniversary smoke free! Like Julie, I've been losing and gaining the same X amount of pounds for years. Hang in there... that darned metabolism will kick in and the pounds will go away for good!
Mrs. Davis - we're having a beautiful sunny day here but only about 60F. I wouldn't mind some of those warm temperatures you're having!
Dana - 2 pounds is great! Keep it up... or should I say down?! Good Monday mantra, too!
Becki - looking forward to hearing what your PT says about the spinning bikes. That workout is killer-good and, if you could participate even a little, you'd really benefit!! Glad to hear you still like cauliflower!
Julie - I make a mouse with whipped cream and SF jello. How do you make it with SF pudding? Do you add the whipped cream before you chill the pudding? Please tell because I've been reluctant to try the pudding - the carb count is a little too high for my liking... mixing it with whipped cream may decrease the carb count and bring it into the legal range for me!!
Koober - Good to see you're here with bells on!
I'll check back later... right now I have to get some work done!!

Re: Monday roll call~~4/247
Hi Vickie,
As I said, so far so good. When I started I knew I was doing "John's low carb"
because it was not 100% Atkins and I would accept a slower weight loss in
exchange for a glass or 3 of wine after work.
Now I have about 9 weeks before my trip and I hear / read of people doing
Atkins correctly and getting very good results.
The wine or the cashew nuts will always be there, this is something I need
to do for myself and do it correctly.
6:32 PM - so far so good. ( baby steps) lol

Another good induction day for me...had a lot of water today! So far, 118 oz. It was a very warm day today!
Food was on track. No exercise however. Worked at the nursing home tonight (my part time job, full time is SLP in a school), and got home at 7:30PM (I leave my house at 6AM).
I'm a bit tired...calling it a night.
Hope everyone has a good night and a great day tomorrow!45 ~ F
