    Good Monday Morning STACers hope you had a great weekend!

    I wasn't on the computer much, so didn't post. Both kids showed up Saturday morning - which was wonderful [college age] and the four of us just sat in my family room and giggled for a couple hours - precious moments.

    Still at 231 this am - of course I am - but feeling good and determined.

    Here and on plan, the scale is playing games with me again, but I also think I didn't drink enough water this weekend, so water is top priority this this week. I also did kind of a pre-rung 3 experiment with pistachios, had about a half a cup. I won't try them again for a couple of weeks, but not sure yet if I'm going to be able to handle them. Funny, I say I'm on rung 2, but all I've added since I've moved to rung 2 is ONE 5gram carb yogurt (yes just one time, lol). I have 3 more from the pack sitting in the fridge and haven't felt like eating them, I think its the knowing that I CAN have one if I want makes me not think about it so much.

    I don't know if this is a good plan or not, I'll have to figure it out when I get there, but I really plan to continue mainly eating like induction for the rest of my life and only using the rungs for occasional treats. I don't seem to be able to go much beyond 25-30 net carbs per day, so I can't see trying to add too many of the higher rungs in on a daily basis. Anybody have any thoughts on this plan?

    2nd Goal ~ 174 No longer obese
    3rd Goal ~ 150 In the home stretch
    Final Goal ~ 145 or below (I'll know when I get there) No longer overweight

      Barb - I'm pretty much with you on the rungs! I moved to 1, and try to incorporate more veggies - but the week I was in the veggie challenge, I actually gained. So just need to get more organized, journal, etc. I normally stick to induction foods to [obviously] - but do occasionally have something off [not bad, just not the rung I'm in]. I'm sure if I got a little more serious, it would serve me better. I'll just keep going like I am right not until after the 1st of the year. Slower time all the way around, so will give me more time to dedicate to journaling my food....but I'm very patient. I feel great, so for me - that's enough for now. My body will eventually let go of the weight, I'm just not in that big of a hurry.

      This weekend I put in some highlights in my hair - even that helps!

        I'm here and on plan. I just have to say that being in the weeks that you don't lose sucks. I hope that I have some success this week. Thanksgiving is coming up and I'm struggling already. Sigh, not a good combination.

          Hello, I'm on my second time around and I was invited so here I am! This is the end of week two, tomorrow is my weigh in day, looking forward to seeing what I've lost! I know I've lost something, I can't keep my pants up!
          male/35/295/250/175? Weight loss is no longer my primary goal. Getting to the point where I no longer feel like h-e-doublehockeysticks is!

            Jenileigh - Those weeks do indeed suck. Since induction I've had more weeks of not moving then of moving. Stay strong and know even if the scale is not moving you won't be back up to where you started as long as you do the right thing even through the holiday. Good luck!

              Barb is it really so wrong to go back on Induction if the scales stops moving when you add foods in from different rungs?

                  The DANDR purist would say that's not the way Dr. A intended the diet to work. You are supposed to back off 5 carbs and possibly eliminate offending foods. But for me, since I've only introduced 2 new foods and only had them each 1 time, I pretty much live in induction with occasionally a few more veggies or a treat from a higher rung. It doesn't make my scale move any faster but hopefully it keeps me from gaining. I don't plan to move officially to rung 3 until I loose 24 pounds (its a mathematical calculation on how fast I'm moving up based on the weight I want to loose and the number of rungs). But since my Girl Scout nut order arrived I jumped the gun by a few pounds and went ahead and tried the pistachios this weekend.

                    Hello,
                    This is my first day of induction but NOT the first time on Atkins. Did well a few years ago; then decided to try Kimkins and got soooo sick. Then went to Weight Watchers, lost 40, gained 60 ... hungry the whole time.
                    Today has gone well ... it is nice to be NOT hungry.

                    My Menu Today:
                    Breakfast:
                    2 Hardboiled eggs
                    3 slices bacon

                    Snack:
                    Spicy Pork Rinds (a handful) with 1 oz sour cream
                    Turkey Breast

                    Lunch:
                    1 1/2 cup of fried cabbage, hamburger and onion with sesame oil

                    Dinner / Snack / Late Afternoon:
                    1 cup lettuce, a few (very few) olives, 1 Tbsp feta cheese and a dressing of olive oil, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, pepper and Italian Seasoning.

                          I'm here struggling with eating enough (still surprised I can say those words) Today was weigh in, and I think I'm down another 1/2 pound (weighed myself 4 times, 238.5, 237.5, 238, 237), so I took the 1/2 pound. Figured I'd go with 238 on the side of caution. Trying to buckle down and add more exercise to my day. Reading everyone elses posting, I know I have a stall in my future soon, and and trying to stack the deck in my favor

                          Barb - Sounds like you had fun times this weekend. And being determined is a Good Thing

                          Barrnone - I understand fully what you mean about eating induction foods forever. I too find if I add too many carbs I start getting hungry. Not a good sign for me. I think trying many of the foods from all the rungs is a smart idea though. Try it, see how you feel, and leave it. Then move onto the next food. How will you know what your trigger foods are if you don't experiment. Don't want to find out later and backslide. Just a thought

                          Jenileigh - I know the frustration of not seeing the scales move. I know for me, it helps if I can reach deep inside of myself, and get MAD. Mad as H--- that I got myself here, and Determined that I will change it and Not let any food control this anymore.

                            and Welcome CMorrison.... glad to see you got back to Atkins. I've heard so many things about Kimkins if true, I'm glad you didn't suffer any long terms problems. Best wishes on your journey.
