Hello to everyone -
My name is Becky, I'm 5'2", my stats are 191/130/130. I started the Atkins WOL in November 2003. I was tired of going to the closet and nothing fit, having my children call me fat, having my husband in diplomatic words telling me that I needed to lose the fat, feeling tired and gross. I bought the book read it, re-read it and stuck to it till today.
I went from a invisible porkie to a gorgeous woman. Wearing size 16 to size 4 or 6 jeans (depending on the label). I feel fantastic, I look fantastic, and I highly recomend the program. Being invisible is no fun, now I have fun. I'm continualy validated not by words but the looks I get. I don't dress "hot" I just happen to look hot. My girlfriend Kathy told me so this weekend, I was floored. You can do it too.
I currently live in Germany, husband in Airforce. Here the bakeries are in every corner, the beer (well we all know about Oktober fest), the wine is fabulous and right now most towns and big cities have the wine fests, last weekend I went to one in Stuttgart, temptations abloom. I eat a brotchen (roll) now and again, mostly very grainny ones. I'm going to Munich for the opening ceremony of Oktober fest this coming weekend but I'll stick to just one liter of pils. The point I'm trying to make is that life doesn't stop because you were once overweight. I've maintained my weight but I've added what others have in great moderation. I also continue to exercise everyday, key ingredient in maintaining what have taken me great effort in obtaining.
I'll continue being on this wonderful WOL because it has giving me a better life. If you just started, don't give up. Drink lots and lots of water, get that fat flowing into the toilet and enjoy every tiny goal you make because at the end you will be rejoicing as I am today.
Great being here, and have a wonderful low carb day!
