  • Hello, can I do it?

Hello, I started the Induction phase on Wednesday, 18th May at 125.4lbs.

I am five feet and right now on day 6 I am weighing 120.6lbs.

I would like to reach 100lbs by 6th July, and then reach a goal weight of 94lbs eventually.

I intend to jog twice a day and squeeze in 80 sit ups a day.

Is it possible for me to reach the 6th July goal while being on Atkins?

    Thanks.

Sounds to me like you are going to be anorexic, so I won't answer that :nono

It's hard to say if you will reach your goal.

But I strongly suggest that you should reassess your weight loss goals. 5' 120 pounds gives you a BMI of 23, which is in the healthly weight range. 5'5" at 100 pounds gives you a BMI of about 20, which is in the healthy weight range. 5' at 94 pounds will give you a BMI of 18, which is underweight.

If you are interested more in toning your body, you might consider doing Atkins Maintenance and an exercise program.

Thank you for your comments not2sweet & not2late.

I do not mean to sound like I will turn anorexic. In fact I enjoy eating, which is why I am overweight in the first place.

The Ministry of Health here recently changed the BMI range of healthy weight to 17-22.9 citing the fact that asians have 5% more body fat than caucasians of the same weight. So if I am 95lbs, my BMI will be 18.46, within the healthy range.

I hope I can do it.

Hmmm...I guess my next question will be do you have a job that requires your weight to conform to the Ministry's charts? In other words, how do you feel about your weight/body size?
