I am starting my third day of atkins induction.....I have been eating less that 20 net carbs a day but about 10 of those carbs came from cashews....which i now know is not on the induction food list. Will this mistake slow down my weight loss

    ABSOLUTELY...

In order to lose the weight successfully, you MUST follow the rules. I know in the beginning you may think all these foods look boring, but trust me you will start getting creative with different recipes...even look in the recipe section of this forum.

Remember...follow the rules or no weight loss! Oh and drink LOTS of water!

    hope this helps..

        Hi Allie,

Just make sure you stay away from those cashews :yes but keep going with Induction - you can't restart it, but that's ok, as it's your third day, you have probably already started going into ketosis - the only thing is you may have prolonged any symptoms of withdrawals from your previous WOE.

You CAN have 1oz of nuts after the first 14 days - either if you choose to go on to Extended Induction or OWL (where you will include it back into the Nuts & Seeds rung)

Also, because you are only on your 3rd day of Induction, then you will still get SOME loss - so chin up, it's not as bad as you think

        Cheers

Cashews are higher on the glycemic index than other nuts too. Dr. A said to avoid them. he said the best nut was macadamias BUT not until you reach the appropriate rung of OWL
