  • Quiznos????

    Roadhouse Ranch Salad
Thinly sliced roast beef is topped with BBQ sauce, bacon, cheddar cheese and spices and is placed on Quiznos Sub own Salad Blend with vine-ripened cherry tomatoes. Quiznos Creamy Ranch dressing is served on the side. (-1 Grams Net Carbohydrates)*

Okay so I'm nervous to eat this. I don't have a lot of choices cuz I'm working downtown 9 to 5 this week. Yes, I already bought it and it's sitting at my desk. Is this NEGATIVE 1 or 1? It smells awesome so I'm nervous to eat it.

    Anyone have any thoughts?

Did you check this nutritional info on the Quiznos site?

I would skip the dressing and scrape off as much of the barbeque sauce as possible.

Remember that the tomatoes are an "other vegetable" and limited to 1 cup daily if your "salad" veggies don't exceed 2 cups. So measure or try to estimate your "salad" veggies properly. Lots of people pooh-pooh the salad amounts because the carb count is "low", but these are the same people who forget portion control is a major part of any healthy diet, including Atkins.

Also, if it's possible you might want to try to plan some things you can bring with you to work so you won't have to guess if a food is okay to eat or not.

Be careful about the BBQ sauce. BBQ sauce has 4 grams of carbs per 2 tablespoons.

That's just it; it said this is "minus the sugar alcohols" ???? Am I supposed to assume they're using low carb stuff?

They could be. Unfortunately, Quiznos doesn't give the ingredients to their products, so their dressings and sauces might contain sugar alcohols. It will be impossible to know unless the dressing has the ingredients listed on it.

To be safe, skip the dressing, and count the carbs as you would if you were preparing that salad yourself. If the restaurant won't supply a nutritional breakdown of their foods, it makes me suspect because you can figure out the carb count by knowing the calories, protein, and fat of a food.
