  • Calories DO count that's for sure!

An example that low carbs can still mean very high calories eaten is my menu for today. Because we are exchanging carbs for fat and fat has more calories than protein it adds up real fast let me tell you.
Today I had just 12.9 carbs and a whopping 1786 calories! Give or take a few cause fitdays calculations differ greatly from dr atkins carb gram counter.
I know i didn't have enough carbs but I actually was gonna quit the program since i cheated for two meals, one on saturday and one on sunday so i really didn't really count what i was eating today till a minute ago when i started adding things up.
I had for breakfast a 1/2 can of tuna salad with 1 c of sliced cucumbers Lunch was pork chops - the fatty part and bones and centers gave to hubby along with a glass of lemonade, for afternoon snack i had an ounce of creamed cheese and the other 1/2 can of tuna salad.
Dinner i had 2 ozs of chicken breast tenders fried, 1/2 avocado with a tsp of mayp and dessert was 3 ounces of creamed cheese with a packet of splenda and vanilla and a tsp of butter.
I guess i did okay today so i will try to continue. Thanks for letting me share this...

Well, I wouldn't give up too soon. Your appetite will start to decrease naturally and you will start to eat less calories. You shouldn't have to count your calories if you are in the induction phase. Of course, you wouldn't be able to have lemonade or the high carb meals either. If I were you, I would give the full two weeks a shot by the book. You should definitely add more veggies into your day as well. And are you drinking lots of water?

Hope that helps and wish you the best!
