  • Starting day 4

    Hey everyone,
I must say, so far this hasn't been hard at all!!! I really thought it would be, and it may become harder later as I get into more social situations. The diet portion of it has been great. The foods are tasty and filling. So far no cravings for junk food (chips, etc...) that I used to snack on constantly. If I get a bit of a hunger pang, I go get a couple of cubes of cheese and a glass of water. Tomorrow will be the first day back to work and I'll have to deal with the cafeteria foods which may be more of a challenge, but there's always the salad bar. I think I may take in a couple of my own bottles of salad dressing so that I can ensure that I get low carb stuff, but other than that I should be fine.

The exercise portion has been great too! I'm finally using this expensive treadmill that I bought several years ago!

Best of luck to everyone else in Induction. I have a feeling that I'll be at this stage for quite some time.

Thanks for this site, it really helps!!!!

    Good for you!

Make sure you bring some snacks with you to work: hard boiled eggs, tuna and mayo, etc. If you don't have access to a refrigerator at work, put your snacks in an insulated bag or small cooler. Make sure you bring water with you too.

If you dont have one of those blocks you freeze (and use to keep food cool with) you can freeze a plastic bottle of water overnight (leave a space in the bottle for room for expansion) and use that to keep it cool. The bonus is that later in the day you'll have some really cold water to drink too!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

Thanks for the suggestions. I do have a small refrigerator in my office, so I should be good to just pack some things in with me a couple of times a week to stock it with fresh stuff. I also have access to all of the fresh cold water that I want.

I'm thinking, hard boiled eggs, cheese, tuna and mayo to start with. I'm sure I'll add to that as things progress.

          Hi Thickrick,
I am coming to the end of day 3, and like you I am not finding it TOO hard so far. I have been a little on the tired side (i think that it is induction flu) but feeling good. It also feels good saying NO to chips and CARBS!! Ha!! So far so good.
The way I look at it is that this WOE is certainly do-able - so I intend to DO IT!!
          Thanks

Now on Day 5.... down 7 lbs as of this morning!! Yippee!!!!!

Last night was hard. I don't know if it's the "Induction Flu", or what, but I just could not sleep at all. I went to bed around 9:30pm. I layed there, tossing and turning until around 1am. Finally dozed off and on, probably no sleep periods of an hour or longer. It really sucked. I was planning on getting up early, hitting the treadmill before work, but just didn't feel like it. I guess I'll have to hit it hard after work.

Good Luck to you Hydra! You can most definitely do it!!!
