  • Didn't eat much today because I'm sick...

    Hi everyone, I'm just curious but I ate breakfast this morning and wasn't hungry all day because I have a touch of Bronchitis. I ended up going to the gym for 2.5 hours and my trainer kicked my butt, I am so soar and tired but I ended up eating dinner tonight which consisted of Eggs, Bacon and cucumber with 2 TBSP of ranch. Since I skipped lunch will that hurt me in the long run? I went to Fitday and entered what I ate today and it seems the numbers came out alright but I was a litte over on the fat, should I eat another vegetable tonight to even it out?

    Honestly, I think you probably need to take at *LEAST* a day off from the gym, or cut back to maybe 30 minutes tomorrow. You're sick, your body needs rest to get better.

    But that's not what you were asking. I think what you ate is fine. But please please take care of yourself, or you *WILL* be burnt out and you *WILL* crash and you *WILL* skid to a halt. You have to take care of your body and give it rest when you are sick. 2.5 hours is in an insanely long workout when you're just starting out!! ESPECIALLY if you are sick.

    I don't want you to feel ganged up on, but you have to take care of your body!

      it happens to me all the time...
      i've been trying to be better behaved, but i keep having a late breakfast and an early dinner...

      i think it's better when you eat a lot of meals, but even knowing that I end up not doing it

      i think you're ok, you dont need to eat extra today, but set a goal for yourself, try not to skip meals...

      pot? black? hehehhehheheh

        I totally agree with you Freckles, I'm taking the day off from working out today. I'm going to go every other day so that I don't get burnt out because I feel like crap right now and am really really sore, I can't even move! I have another question also, I got on the scale this morning because I like to weight myself once a week so I figured I'd do it on Tuesday's and the scale is reading 259, I was at 258 yesterday could it be because I am lifting weights and I am starting to build some muscle? I hope next month when I get measured at the gym I've lost some inches because I'm getting really frustrated with the scale but I'm not gonna give up!

          The scale goes up and down for me too.

          I weigh on Sundays only now. If I peek during the week I prepare myself that it might not be what I want to see.... and that's ok, it really really doesn't mean anything!

          Like if I weighed 248 on Sunday, I could very easily weigh 250 today. It really doesn't matter what the day to day fluctuations are, just that there is a downward movement over time, right?

            Always try to pay attention to the 6 hour rule. Even if you eat a very small snack, like a couple slices of pepperoni, with a tomato slice and slice of cheese, it will help to keep your blood sugar stabilized.

            As for the amount of food, you'll begin to notice that your appetite is decreased. That's totally normal. Feed your appetite. If 1 egg and 3 green pepper slices satisfy your appetite. That's all you eat. Your body won't let you starve, if you listen to it. On some days or meals, you'll find yourself hungrier than others. Go with that pattern and you won't need to count calories.

              I noticed once my body got into ketosis, I was full of energy than usual and not hungry at all, infact I had to eat because we are not suppose to stay hungry for more than 6 hours

                Kimberly hun,

                Take it easy, the workout regime you were tackling is bound to burn you out. Your body is going to let you know.

                Best of luck to you, and as long as you eat every 6 waking hours, you are fine...

                Rest and lots of water...
