  • What did you have for dinner?

Day seven here and I'm really enjoying cooking this go around. I love getting new ideas from everyone and love these kind of threads.

    This is what I had.

I had Stuffed Cubanelles (a type of sweet pepper), Jicama Salad, Kim's Flaxmeal Cinnamon Muffins and Jicama Bread for dessert.

    So what did you have?

Make sure you eat a combination of fats, proteins and carbs for your meals.

Anyhow, I had a pork chop and a wilted endive salad with a parmesan cheese shavings.

Confused..was I not ok with this?

      Breakfast was:
Omlet: 1 egg, celery, broccoli and cheese

Lunch was: 2 chicken legs, small salad w/dressing

That looks wonderful, weighless! Thanks for posting pics and reminding us that induction doesn't have to be boring. I'm not inducting, but I just had boring old boiled eggs squooshed with mayo. I was in a rush.

Garlic and wine (seasoning) grilled chicken breast with jalopeno pepper jack cheese with sauteed mushrooms and steamed broccoli. Side salad. yum!

I had Boston Market - Quarter White Individual Meal with double green beans, and no cornbread. That & In-N-Out Burger are, with very rare exception, the only two fast food places I'll go near!

Tonight I had a reuben casserole, made with corned beef, sauerkraut, swiss cheese and sliced tomatoes and cucumbers from a neighbor's garden!

Re: What did you have for dinner?

Weighless, every meal should have fat, carb and protein. So yeah, a piece of flaxbread might have protein, but it's not enough protein.

Also be careful about fitday. The totals on the chart you gave are not the %'s. They are the total grams of fat, protein and carb. The percentages for that meal was 56.6% fat, 20.6% protein and 5% carb.

And be aware that while flaxmeal, psyllium husk and wheat bran are acceptable fiber supplements during Induction, their amounts are limited according to their usage. If you are using these fibers to supplement your diet, they are limited to 1 tablespoon daily (Chapter . If you are using them to relieve constipation, you begin with 1 tablespoon and adjust it until you are relieved (Chapter 23)

So again, you could juggle around carby foods with a relatively high protein/fat amount, but at this stage of the game, try to stick to 'pure' fats, proteins and carbs. When you move onto OWL, you can experiement with your menues based on your carb level.
